The most expensive drop?published at 17:38 Greenwich Mean Time 20 February 2019

I wonder what the most expensive drop in an ODI is? I remember a friend of mine dropped a complete dolly in a club game when the batsman was on 4. He went on to make 150.

  2. WI 221-2published at 33 overs

    Gayle 94, Hetmyer 18

Shimron Hetmyer looks for a quick single, and Chris Gayle doesn't move a muscle at the non-striker's end.

Chris Woakes flings down a couple of wides to help West Indies along, before Hetmyer steps across his stumps and whips a divine four down to the mid-wicket boundary.

Shimron Hetmyer has gone for a big old yahoo, and missed the ball completely.

He's missed it by a mile, actually. This will be overturned.

  5. West Indies reviewpublished at 32.4 overs

    Shimron Hetmyer has edged behind!

He's been given out, but he's reviewed straight away.

    Here's Chris Woakes...

(For #RashidWatch fans, he's fielding down in the deep. And not bowling.)

    Gayle 93, Hetmyer 13

And now a Gayle mis-hit has gone for six!

Oh, Gayle didn't time this at all. It was a horrid swipe, spooning the ball up into the air and sending a thick top edge over the wicket-keeper's head. Three men go chasing after it and all of them end up watching it go sailing over the rope. Ouch.

As I said. A quiet over.

Chris Gayle has middled this one. He comes dancing out of his crease, swings that huge bat over his shoulder, and sends Liam Plunkett into the stands.

  9. WI 201-2published at 31.4 overs

Moeen Ali goes tumbling to his knees at mid-on to cut off a furious swipe from Shimron Hetmyer.

After the manic nature of the past few overs this is much more sedate, Gayle and Hetymer exchanging a couple of singles before Jos Buttler makes a mess of tidying up a Plunkett slower ball.

Jock Jamieson Black: Have they brought in the long-on boundary?

  12. Postpublished at 17:26 Greenwich Mean Time 20 February 2019

Chris Gayle didn't hit a boundary until the 15th over. He was dropped on nine from 32 deliveries earlier today.

He's on 81 from 90 balls at the minute, with two fours and seven sixes. Ouch.

This is getting rather ugly for England's bowlers.

Three sixes, a no-ball, two wides and a single in that last Mark Wood over.

  15. WI 196-2published at 31 overs

Eoin Morgan has been over to chat to Mark Wood after almost every delivery.

There's a small crumb of comfort for captain and bowler as Wood beats Chris Gayle with a slower ball to end the over.

In our back garden cricket you're out if you hit the ball over the fence. Same rule for Chris Gayle please ICC.

    My word.

Shimron Hetmyer is into the attack now, as Mark Wood bowls a full delivery into the slot and Hetmyer tonks him over long-on for yet another six.

  18. WI 188-2published at 30.3 overs

Oh, this is not a good over from Mark Wood.

The idea is right, going full and wide to cut off Gayle's scoring options, but Wood has lost control and speared this one through Jos Buttler.

The third umpire is going to have to bring another new ball out - that's gone into the crowd!

Chris Gayle looks as relaxed as ever as he takes a stride forward and wallops the ball over mid-wicket and into the stands. I make that five balls we've lost today...
