    Rashid c Hope b Holder 0 (Eng 113-9)

Blimey. England have absolutely no answer. Adil Rashid now goes.

Jason Holder looks like Curtley Ambrose.

This one is yet another short ball. It's the eighth dismissal to a short delivery in the innings. In fairness this is a snorter from Holder.

England now only have two wickets left. Tom Curran and Adil Rashid are at the crease. Both are on nought.

England look like they've struggled to cope with the change in conditions. From a belting track in Grenada, to a pitch that has extra bounce in it here.

  5. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 26.5 overs

    Buttler c Cottrell b Thomas 23 (Eng 113-8)

The big one. And it's another short ball...

England have crumbled, collapsed like a tower of stones washed away by the tide.

Jos Buttler doesn't quite go for the full pull shot from this short ball by Oshane Thomas but he tries to paddle it around the corner. He just skies it in the air to fine leg.

    West Indies are ecstatic.

    Woakes c Brathwaite b Thomas 0 (Eng 111-7)

Brainless. Another one goes on the hook.

Chris Woakes has sat and watched the England top order get out playing cross-batted shots to short deliveries. On his fourth ball he does exactly the same thing and the extra bounce of this pitch means Oshane Thomas' pacey delivery is skewed to mid-on.

  7. Eng 111-6published at 26 overs

    Buttler 21, Woakes 0

Darren Bravo is wandering around at mid-on with his maroon trousers tucked into his white socks. It's an interesting look.

Jason Holder drills away on a difficult, jumpy length. Jos Buttler has to see the over out as a maiden.

Here is Matt Henry to take you through the rest of England's innings.

Will they bat out their overs?

  10. Eng 111-6published at 25 overs

It might not be a very happy 30th birthday for Chris Woakes now.

He's in much earlier than he would've hoped. In fact, he probably hoped he wouldn't be batting today.

England's number eight defends his first ball.

This has been very ordinary from the tourists and superb exploiting of the pitch from the hosts.

  12. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 24.5 overs

    Moeen c Hope c Thomas 12 (Eng 111-6)

This is pretty woeful from Moeen Ali, given the bounce in the pitch.

No footwork, pushing limply with an angled bat away from his body at a ball pushed across that lifted off the pitch.

The result? The ball flicks the outside edge and Shai Hope completes a simple catch.

And it was coming - Moeen again looked completely hapless against the short ball.

Jason Holder is going to hold back Carlos Brathwaite's final two overs.

A fine first spell of 8-1-17-2 that has made West Indies favourites.

Here comes Oshane Thomas back into the attack...

It feels strange watching a match like this after so much high-octane cricket. This in comparison is like an old-fashioned game at Headingley in May. But with Saint Lucian weather.

  15. Eng 108-5published at 23.4 overs

A boundary! Finally! That's the first one in 35 balls.

Moeen Ali bends down and sweeps powerfully out through mid-wicket for four.

  17. Eng 104-5published at 23 overs

    Brathwaite 8-1-17-2

Moeen Ali cuts with authority through point for two.

He then pulls tentatively at a short one and chips the ball just short of the man at deep fine leg.

Carlos Brathwaite grimaces. The trap was set. Another superb over, just three from it.

Ashley Nurse isn't posing many problems on this pitch, mind.

Jos Buttler and Moeen Ali continue to pick up ones and twos off the spinner, taking seven off the over.

I don't think those two things are as likely as each other. England are much more likely to hit a big score than collapse, as borne out by the past few years.

The issue is, that on a pitch that has a specific challenge to it - whether lively bounce like here, or sharp turn, or extra pace etc - they don't seem to adapt quite quickly enough to counteract that difficulty if they get into trouble.

For example here - why are batsmen still playing the hook shot when they've seen it get their team-mates into trouble earlier?

The thing with the England batting line up is they're just as likely to collapse as they are to score 400+. It's feast or famine, a lack of consistency which will ultimately cost them in the World Cup.
