I hope Joe Root's team talk went along the lines of "lads, those three big sticks in the ground. Bowl at them. Please."
It'll be Stuart Broad to get things going.

If England win, this would be the lowest total they have defended at Lord's.
Here come the players.
Joe Root brings his side together in a huddle as William Porterfield strides out to the middle, twirling his bat as he goes.

It feels like a Stuart Broad day. With the game on the line and when England need a performance, that's when Stuart Broad turns up.

Richie Macca: Calling it: England to win by 50 runs before tea.
Steve Urry: I am going to say Ire to get 152...

England have been fortunate with the conditions here. The lights are on, it's overcast. It feels like a lovely bowling morning.
It does feel like a Chris Woakes day, you know. Overcast, lights on, bit of rain in the air. But if Ireland can get through the early burst, with the ball moving around...

England's top six batsmen have amassed 164 runs in two innings in this test. The 'tail' have added 204 with power to add today. Just not good enough from our batsmen. They need to bat more like Leach did yesterday. That was a proper Test match innings.

Turns out my six over shout was very optimistic...
Still. What an opportunity this is for Ireland.

Ireland have to score 182. In two days. To beat England. In their third game of Test cricket.
Stuart Thompson walks off, huge grin on his face, with 3-44 to his name.
Mark Adair, who bowled so well yesterday, finished with 3-66, while Boyd Rankin has 2-86 and Tim Murtagh 1-52.

What a day we have here - potentially.
Stone b Thompson 0 (Eng 303)
BOWLED HIM! First ball!
Full, straight, leg stump goes cartwheeling out of the ground! That's a brilliant sight for a fast bowler.
Ireland will need 182 for their maiden Test victory.
Stuart Thompson will resume the over that was interrupted by lightning and thunder last night.
It's Olly Stone facing.
The floodlights are on at Lord's as the players make their way out to the middle.
How long are we backing Stuart Broad and Olly Stone to last? I'm going six overs. I'm an optimist.

He found my outside edge plenty of times.
Well, he'll be key with the bat this morning, provided he can thrash around for a bit and get England's lead over 200.

Stuart Broad will be key for England. He has won games of cricket on this ground - when we bowled out New Zealand very cheaply here, he got on a roll. Ireland will do well to get through Stuart Broad's spell. When there's a game on the line, he is your man. That will be so crucial as to how Ireland get through that.

Jeremy Mitchell: I’ll have money we don’t make it through the first over today. Think we then struggle to take the first wicket too. Long tense day ahead.
Good news! The covers are coming off at Lord's, the brollies have gone down, and we're going to have some cricket!
