  1. dropped catch

Stokes dropped on 6published at 20 overs

    Eng 71-3

    Down! David Warner, again!

Oh, he should have held on to this! Another prod forward from Ben Stokes, a thick outside edge flying to Warner's left and, for some reason, Warner is moving to his right. He readjusts at the last minute, left hand groping, but he can't cling on.

Steve Smith would normally be fielding there...

  2. Eng 71-3published at 19.3 overs

Edged - and just past the slip!

Ben Stokes looks all at sea against Nathan Lyon. He goes so far back into his crease he's almost sat on Tim Paine's knee. He shaped to defend and a leading edge just bobbled underneath a diving David Warner's hand.

  3. Eng 67-3published at 19.2 overs

Ben Stokes almost chops on first ball!

He underedges into Tim Paine's pad as he leans back, trying to chop down on the ball, and he jogs two to get himself off the mark.

  4. Eng 64-3published at 19.1 overs

Here's Nathan Lyon - and his first ball is short, again, and chopped away for an easy single by Rory Burns.

That means Lyon has Ben Stokes in his sights...

That catch is something the players do practise - a coach will hit tennis balls back at them in their follow through.

Joe Denly’s pretty 20s make me long for the days of James Vince’s pretty 30s.

  7. Eng 64-3published at 19 overs

    Lead by 72

Ben Stokes gets a wild, wide delivery first up and he lets it go sliding through to Tim Paine.

    Now then.

England have made a change, and I think it's a good one - Ben Stokes is coming out at five, instead of Jos Buttler.

Dan: Shocked to see Denly out for a good looking 26 there.

Looked like Denly was starting to build a pretty good innings but an incredible catch by Siddle, never easy because you can lose sight of the ball in your follow through. It is game on here.

  11. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 18.5 overs

    Denly c&b Siddle 26 (Eng 64-3)

    Aaaaand he's out.

If Peter Siddle could field to himself, he'd have taken all the catches on offer. This is brilliant work from the fast bowler in his follow through, Joe Denly shovelling the ball up into the air and Siddle is so quick to get his hands to his left and cling on.

  12. Eng 64-2published at 18.4 overs

    Shot!

That is a gorgeous on-drive from Joe Denly, taking a floaty delivery from Peter Siddle and dispatching it with ease for four.

    Andrew Samson
    BBC Test Match Special statistician

First time in nearly four years that England have had fifty partnerships for the third wicket in both innings of a Test.

  14. Eng 59-2published at 18.1 overs

Peter Siddle looks like one of those cartoon animals with steam coming out of his ears as Joe Denly thick-edges a drive away for three.

    That'll be the fifty partnership.

All tickets are sold out for tomorrow. For the first time MCC offered £20 non refundable tickets for the final day, with the net proceeds going to the MCC Foundation, the charitable arm of the MCC.

    Don't do that!

A wayward pull from Joe Denly, not in control by any means, and he somehow manages to drop the ball just in front of Travis Head in the deep.

We don't want the players coming off, we really want this hour of play to advance the game.

Oh, hello. The groundstaff are hovering. Is there a speck of rain in the air?

It looks miserable as anything, grey skies hanging over the ground. I reckon the umpires will be twitching for the light meter soon enough...

Peter Siddle looks consistently furious but he's a softie at heart - he and his wife rescue dogs, which makes him a superb human in my book.

Meanwhile, Josh Hazlewood is back on.
