I told you The Oval liked its hipster foods....

RE: Tom Stephens' idea - my Sister's middle name is Robyn, after Robin Smith's Ashes century at Old Trafford in 89.

Stuart Broad will continue after tea. He hasn't been at his best today.

Steve Smith got a bit periscopey there.

Smith has been brilliant, absolutely incredible, and even when he plays a bad shot he gets away with it. Archer bounces him again but the ball loops up off a top edge and falls into a vacant area at square leg.
So frustrating for England.

Big session for England. A game breaker.
Smith 59, M Marsh 12
I think this might be the 101st different peculiar shot we have seen from Smith in this series. He's almost down on one knee as he tries to pull a bouncer from Jofra Archer.

The pitch had a green tinge to it yesterday morning but that's disappeared now. It's straw-like.

Look up the word "ominous" in the dictionary and there's just a picture of Steve Smith.

Here come the England players, followed by Steve Smith and Mitchell Marsh.

I've found another spot to add to the collection of superb vantage points inside The Oval. On the first tier of the OCS Stand is a champagne bar. Artificial grass on the floor, big sofas, a real suntrap. It's like being at a garden party.

We could have an ice age and after it thawed Steve Smith would still be at the crease.
I'm glad someone else got my film reference there, Alex. No-one here in the office did.

And how would you beat him? With a stick. While he slept.
Alex, London.
England did take two wickets in that session.
They were deserved wickets for Jofra Archer and Sam Curran. They've been England's two best bowlers today.
Maybe trying to get Smith out isn't the answer.
Back when he was 17 the Australian came over to England to play club cricket for Grappenhall Cricket Club in the Cheshire county league.
He left after just a few days after getting "upset" when his teammates took him to a local pub.
Remarkable!
Once again Steve Smith stands in between England and the upper hand in this match.
He now has a quite staggering 730 runs in six innings in this series. He has scored more than 50 in every knock. He has scored 50 or more in 10 innings in a row against England.
Bradman's record is actually coming into reach. He only needs 244 more to have scored the most runs in a series ever.
