Stokes looks better when he plays the big shot than when he prods around so I would set the field to protect the boundaries.
Denly 54, Stokes 27
Nathan Lyon will not miss bowling at Ben Stokes.
Quite often Stokes looks in a bit of bother against the off-spinner and does give up a few chances.
But he just doesn't seem to get out to him and then begins to cart Lyon round the ground.

That was Stokes at his best.

That traveled like a bullet.
Lead by 201
Ben Stokes gets down on one knee and wallops a sweep shot out to the boundary.
Was that four or six? After a long look, it's signalled six!
What a shot.
Nathan Lyon has patched up his cut during Josh Hazlewood's over and is back on to continue his spell now.
Ben Stokes rocks back, cuts through the covers and Marnus Labuschagne makes a hash of his attempted stop, the ball running away to the boundary.
Wahey is the cry from the England fans.
Stephan Shemilt
BBC Sport at The Oval
Nathan Lyon is struggling with a cut on his spinning finger - he spends a lot of time inspecting it. It's been troubling him for a while - he tried to fix it with superglue. Not that England fans will have any sympathy. Moeen Ali had a similar problem on the last tour down under.
Played.
Run rate 2.84
Ben Stokes drives firmly through the covers and picks up three.
Josh Hazlewood then goes short and Joe Denly pulls him round the corner for one.
Stokes then takes on the pull shot and also gets one, keeping it down.

I think Stokes took the wrong club out. He used the sand wedge but needed a nine iron.
Simon Mann

That stopped like a golf shot right at the pin.
Ha. Yeah. 'Careful accumulation.'
Ben Stokes unfurls a slog sweep that loops up and somewhat plugs in the outfield as Stokes scampers three.
Ben Stokes swivels one round the corner for a solitary single off Josh Hazlewood's over.
Careful accumulation the order of the day for now.

That ball flu at Smith.
MJF, Liverpool
England off Nelson as Ben Stokes taps a single down the ground.
Joe Denly goes back and is hit on the pad by Nathan Lyon but just a strangled appeal as it was clearly missing leg.
Andrew Samson
BBC Test Match Special statistician
This is Denly's fourth fifty in Test cricket and all of them have been in the second innings. He averages 15 in the first innings and 41.28 in the second.
A lovely way to bring up 50 - Joe Denly clipping crisply off his pads to the fence.
That is Denly's third 50 in the Ashes and his most fluent.
An excellent effort so far. Can he convert?
Glenn McGrath
Ex-Australia bowler on BBC Test Match Special
You can't drop five catches in a match and think you'll be in a dominant position. Australia have to make inroads here or the lead will be too big.
Josh Hazlewood returns to the attack and Joe Denly slices off a thick inside edge behind square for a couple of runs, taking him to 49.
