This crowd desperately wants a wicket.

One Afghanistan fan down below us desperately tries to get some chants going while the players also have a half-appeal for a caught behind off Aaron Finch.

Nothing doing, both sides of the boundary rope, and this is all going Australia's way so far.

  3. Aus 40-0published at 6 overs

Hamid Hassan is causing Australia all sorts of problems here.

He cuts Aaron Finch in half with an absolute jaffa before he fires one into the opener's ribs.

Finch looks less than comfortable against the pace.

Gulbadin Naib immediately puts a second slip in.

  5. Aus 39-0published at 5.1 overs

    Hamid Hassan is bowling beautifully.

He forces an outside edge out of David Warner and it flies just wide of first slip and down to the boundary.

It would have been a regulatory take for second slip.

Aaron Finch has played much of his career as an ultra-aggressive opener but when he broke into the Test team, he really lost his form. More recently, the runs have returned but he's almost afraid to go hard for fear of getting out and as a result he's not scored his runs quite as quickly.

    Finch's strike-rate in ODI cricket in 2016 was 94.1, in 2017 92.67, in 2018 89.47 and in 2019 82.87.

Here's how Aaron Finch hit Mujeeb Ur Rahman out of the attack.

  8. Aus 35-0published at 5 overs

Good comeback from Dawlat Zadran, conceding just a single off the remaining five deliveries.

  9. Aus 34-0published at 4.1 overs

    Four.

Flat batted straight back past the bowler and umpire to the boundary.

    That flew.

The Mujeeb experiment is over and Dawlat Zadran is into the attack.

    He's started with a no-ball.

    David Warner has a free-hit...

  14. Aus 29-0published at 4 overs

At the other end, Hamid Hassan has been impressive.

This time he draws a false shot from Aaron Finch that again gets the close fielders oohing and aahing.

Finch has an almighty slash at the final ball of the over and it flies down to the third man boundary.

    Five from the over.

  15. Aus 24-0published at 3 overs

The experiment of Mujeeb Ur Rahman opening the bowling hasn't worked.

14 runs come from his second over and Australia have got off to a very good start.

It's hard to bowl spin at this ground, especially with the new ball, because of how short the boundaries are.

Mujeeb is going to continue for Afghanistan.

Oh, Gulbadin Naib might wish he'd made a change now.

Aaron Finch continues where the first over ended by lofting the spinner over mid-on for six.

You have to keep the ball close to the stumps with David Warner - anything wide and he throws his hands at it.

  20. Aus 10-0published at 2 overs

That's a great start from Hamid Hassan - a maiden.

David Warner is VERY keen to avoid a run out based on the very, very loud shouts of 'wait on' and 'waiting' in that over.
