  1. Pak 1-0published at 0.1 overs

    Target 308

That was a very tight call to judged that Cummins have over-stepped. It is perhaps right that he bowls a dot ball on the free hit.

  2. Pak 1-0published at 0 overs

Pat Cummins starts with a no-ball!

Is that a sign? Free hit coming up.

I think the total Australia got in these conditions is just above par. Like David Warner said they need to bowl Test match lengths.

    Here are just some of Pakistan's recent scores 348-8, 297, 340-7, 358-9, 361-7.

They have the batting capabilities but so much will depend on this start up against Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins.

So have Pakistan done enough to drag themselves back into it? Or will their shocking start cost them with the runs proving too many?

We'll soon find out. Here come the players.

You never quite know what Pakistan are going to arrive. Today we got both, they are a curious team.

Those last 10 overs have just given them a sniff.

Mohammad Amir was by far and away the best Pakistan bowler. He was threatening and economical in his first spell, the only bowler to really restrict Australia, and then returned to brilliant effect late on.

He added the wickets of Shaun Marsh, Usman Khawaja, Alex Carey and Mitchell Starc to the early wicket of Finch to claim a five-wicket haul.

    But then the collapse started.

Glenn Maxwell fell first and then Warner for 107.

Both wickets went to Shaheen Afridi...

Finch eventually fell for 82 and Steve Smith was caught for 10.

But David Warner went on to complete his first century for Australia since his return from his ball-tampering ban.

Australia were 223-2 in the 34th over. A score close to 400 was on the cards.

Pakistan did not take advantage of favourable early conditions.

They bowled some good balls but a lot of rubbish ones. They also dropped Aaron Finch when he was on just 26.

It was back to the underwhelming Pakistan we say in the five-match series against England before this World Cup.

Australia were cruising and Pakistan looked lost.

Openers Aaron Finch and David Warner bashed there way to a century partnership.

They were 146-0 after 22 overs.

    Are Pakistan now favourites?

On this kind of ground if one of the top three get in Pakistan can definitely chase this.

Australia centurion David Warner: "I think I left a few out there. The second spell from Mohammad Amir was fantastic. We have got to come out and bowl Test match line and length and be very disciplined.

"The pitch is good. We have got to put it up there and make them drive.

"If we start well and take early wickets it will be very difficult. We have to respect the opposition and bowl well."

It was almost the reverse to the Australia v West Indies game.

Australia were 223-2 but then lost eight wickets for just 84 runs and left an over out there.

That lack of depth in their batting costing them against an in-form Mohammad Amir.

It was brilliant from Mohammad Amir. That should be a DVD on how to bowl in ODI cricket.
