Starc c Shoaib b Amir 3 (Aus 307 all out)

Mohammad Amir completes a sublime five-wicket haul with his final delivery!

A slower ball dupes Mitchell Starc into miscuing his drive down the ground and Shoaib Malik takes another catch.

Amir has been wonderful today and finishes with amazing figures of 10-2-30-5.

Pakistan, Amir aside, were shocking for long periods but have dragged it back brilliantly to bowl out Australia for 307.

It will be a tough chase but 308 is much more doable than the 350 plus they were looking at earlier on.

  2. Aus 307-9published at 48.5 overs

Pakistan are a new team. Mitchell Starc flicks it fine off his pads and Shaheen Afridi makes a fine diving stop to prevent the boundary and save two runs.

It has been a masterclass from Mohammad Amir.

  4. wicket

Carey lbw Amir 20 (Aus 304-9)

Three reds on ball tracking - not even umpire's call, that was hitting leg stump full on.

In fairness, it was just a desperation review from Alex Carey as the last batsman and he was off the field after seeing the first few replays.

Superb again from Mohammad Amir, fast, full and tailing in. Play that.

No bat. It's hit him on the back ankle.

Don't think this is missing leg, perhaps umpire's call.

Unless there's an inside edge that looks to be thumping into leg stump.

That looks pretty dead to me.

  9. Australia reviewpublished at 48.3 overs

Alex Carey is struck in front with a low full toss and is given out lbw.

He reviews straight away - perhaps just because he has to as the last recognised batsman.

Mohammad Amir is on for his final over, Wahab Riaz having thought he was bowling it in a reverse of what happened earlier.

Communication not Sarfaraz Ahmed's strong point perhaps.

Seriously impressed by Mohammed Amir's bowling today, his line and length has been superb, and barring a last over massacre he deserves these fantastic figures.

That is Hassan Ali's first wicket of the World Cup in his 24th over.

  13. Aus 302-8published at 48 overs

    Carey 19, Starc 0

A well-directed bouncer to finish. Starc tries to hook and misses it. Just two runs from the 48th over, superb death bowling by Hassan Ali.

  14. Aus 302-8published at 47.5 overs

Hassan Ali gets it in at the ribs of new man Mitchell Starc. No run.

Pakistan need to concentrate on bowling Australia out for 305-310 here. If they can do that they will have a chance.

  17. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 47.3 overs

    Cummins c Sarfaraz b Hassan 2 (Aus 302-8)

Australia are having a bit of shocker in these final few overs.

Alex Carey takes a single to return Pat Cummins to the strike. The very next ball Cummins leans back, trying to guide Hassan Ali away.

But it bounces on him and flicks off the edge through to Sarfaraz Ahmed behind.

Pakistan will fancy bowling Australia out now.

  18. Aus 301-7published at 47.1 overs

New man Pat Cummins wisely taps a single into the off side to get off strike against Hassan Ali.

  19. Aus 300-7published at 47 overs

    Carey 18, Cummins 1

Just two singles from Wahab's over as Australia finally get to 300.

What can the Aussies do in these final three overs? Alex Carey is going to have to take most of the strike.

Australia had a chance to bat Pakistan out of the game with a score of 350+ but they're going to fall short of that.

If you look at England against Bangladesh, they batted them out of the game. Australia had a chance to do similar today.
