Tidy and a speedy over from Kuldeep, exactly what India want - three from it.

Indeed. You sense this India side would've found a way to win whatever had happened at the toss.

You also sense the rain is closing in.

Kuldeep Yadav is going to continue.

Safaraz is in trouble here because the Prime Minister (Imran Khan) said he should have batted. Ultimately he's just up against a better side.

Four wickets fell in 19 balls. Shoaib Malik has been out three times in the last four balls he has faced.

I make it that the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern par score is 204.

So Pakistan are currently 67 runs short.

  7. Pak 137-5published at 29 overs

    Target 337

Sarfaraz Ahmed advances down the pitch and ends up wearing a Hardik Pandya short ball.

Pandya digs in the last and new man Imad Wasim pulls it away nicely for four.

Four games remaining for Pakistan after this and they can only get to five wins so this is looking like curtains for them.

  9. Pak 132-5published at 28.1 overs

    Hat-trick...denied.

Sarfaraz Ahmed gets in behind it with a solid forward defensive to repel Hardik Pandya.

Pakistan are going to lose before the rain comes to save them.

  11. Pak 132-5published at 28 overs

Kuldeep Yadav wheels his way through an over, conceding just three from it.

An interlude and now Hardik Pandya has a chance at a hat-trick.

Pandya had bowled 20 overs and four balls without a wicket and now two in two, so he will be on a hat-trick in his next over.

Pandya has just got that knack. All great teams need a quality all-rounder and he has just got that energy. India have looked like they have got all the quality and players that believe. Pakistan, I just don't think they believe.

Pandya sprints off towards point and jumps in the air. The India crowd are in full voice.

  15. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 27 overs

    Shoaib b Pandya 0 (Pak 129-5)

Pakistan are having a mare. They have now lost four wickets for 12 runs.

Shoaib Malik is gone first ball and Hardik Pandya has two in two.

It's a loose prod away from his body by Shoaib and the ball deflects down off an inside edge and bounces into leg stump.

Those pesky zing bails are easily dislodged.

India have been very good tactically, they've got a good bowling attack and they have more options than, say, Aaron Finch has for Australia.

Hafeez what have you done - you have hit it straight to Shankar. That was a gift.

  18. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 26.5 overs

    Hafeez c Shankar b Pandya 9 (Pak 129-4)

    Wheels. Off.

Mohammad Hafeez is much better against spin than pace so Virat Kohli calls Hardik Pandya back into the attack.

And it pays off within the over as Hafeez chips one off his pads straight to deep square leg.

Should have hit it much harder or softer. A tame dismissal.

When the second Pakistan wicket fell they were only 12 runs behind on DLS, when the third wicket fell they were 42 behind.

A few months ago, Phil Tufnell tried to explain how Kuldeep bowls - just before he went on air for his radio show with Michael Vaughan. This is the result...

    Media caption,

In the style of India's Kuldeep Yadav, Phil Tufnell bowls left-arm leg spin.
