Chris Gayle has an interesting record against Bangladesh in the World Cup. He has scores of 0, 1 and 37 after Bangladesh were bundled out for 58.

  2. WI 0-0published at 1 over

One mistimed cut but not much on offer for Gayle in the opening over, around 80mph from captain Mortaza.

West Indies are concerned about their batting. Andre Russell isn't at his best in terms of his fitness - he and Chris Gayle will have to make up 10 overs, which is a bit worrying.

The West Indies look to be in good spirits as they make their way back to the pavilion. Now then Christopher Henry Gayle what have you got for us today? Scores of 50, 21 and 36 so far. He strides out in a sleeveless sweater and takes guard for the first ball, which will be bowled by Mashrafe Mortaza.

Neither of these sides would be knocked out if they lost today, but they would almost certainly not be able to qualify.

Amazed West Indies are wheeling Dre Russ out again! Looked like a walking injury textbook the other day.

Strange to see Courtney Walsh lining up against West Indies. The giant former paceman is part of the Bangladesh coaching team. He'll be tapping his feet to the fabulous "Rally Round the West Indies", though, surely?

Chris Gayle is skipping out in his pads and his accompanying mascot has to follow suit to keep up with the big man.

There is a good contingent of Bangladesh supporters and one dressed in his Tiger onesie, which may come in very handy on a chilly day as we pause for the anthems.

The weather hasn't been very kind for the last two weeks, so most teams want to bowl first so they know what kind of target to chase. If the rain comes, they know what's in front of them.

Chris Gayle has played a lot of cricket here for Somerset, and there are some flats I have seen him hit the ball into.

Yes and four lost to rain. The skies do look a little heavy at Taunton I must say, unless there is a filter on the lens. It's a very attractive ground, with the Church of St James overlooking the playing area.

Just the one change for Bangladesh too, as Liton Das comes in for Mithun, who made a duck against England, with 26 and 21 in his previous two games.

  16. One change for the Windiespublished at 10:07 British Summer Time 17 June 2019

No Carlos Brathwaite for the West Indies, left out in favour of Darren Bravo. You always think of big Carlos as a matchwinner after "that" T20 final in 2016 but he's made modest scores of 16 and 14.

  17. 'We have the firepower to do it'published at 10:05 British Summer Time 17 June 2019

West Indies skipper Jason Holder: "I would have liked to bowl as well but it's an opportunity to make some runs. We'll probably have to fight for the first 10 overs but we have the firepower to do it. It's for us to be a little smarter."

Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Mortaza: "There might be something in the wicket. The boys have been well prepared - so let's see."

  19. Bangladesh win toss and bowlpublished at 10:02 British Summer Time 17 June 2019

That little pitch of blue sky has gone already but it's still dry as Jason Holder flicks the coin. Bangladesh decide to bowl.

The diminutive figure of former Pakistan spinner Mushtaq Ahmed has been out there with a huge catching mitt working with the West Indies team this morning.

What a bowler he was for Sussex though in those Championship-winning teams. He's only 48 you know, 49 later this month. It's time for the toss.
