It's a different atmosphere here today - people are sitting watching cricket. There's no fancy dress, beer snakes, chanting...

Anyone going to blame England for playing 'dated' cricket now? Lots have been quick to jump on Australia and the like for doing so...World Cup cricket is a different monster to bilateral series.

Target 233
Umpire Marais Erasmus is one delay away from upgrading his stern look at people moving behind the bowler's arm to a stern word.
Thisara Perera finally finishes the over and Joe Root takes a single off the last.
At this point Sri Lanka were 74-3.
Michael Vaughan
Ex-England captain on BBC Test Match Special
That's what Morgan does: from nowhere he'll try and hit one into the stands.
Jeez. Eoin Morgan skips down the pitch and tries to hit over the rope down the ground. He doesn't quite get hold of it and the ball plugs into the turf.
And when I say plugs, it really does, almost stopping completely dead on the grass where you'd have expected it to roll on towards the boundary.
Morgan gets just two for it.
Andy Zaltzman
Test Match Special statistician
Since the last World Cup this is the lowest score England have had after 15 overs at home, and the second lowest anywhere.
Target 233
Six balls. Two singles. And a world away from England's brutal batting against Afghanistan.
Tremendous discipline from Sri Lanka's bowlers.
Paul Farbrace
Ex-England assistant coach on BBC Test Match Special
Sri Lanka need to take wickets. Even though England are just knocking the ball around, they know if they bat the overs they will win the game. Sri Lanka need to be bold and get some catchers in.
Simon Mann

England need to do it differently today. They've got to be careful.
Nuwan Pradeep is off, Thisara Perera on.
It's a tidy start as England continue their calm accumulation to bring up the 50.

Will Huggins: Please can we have a worm chart update?
As you asked so nicely...
England are in blue. The sloth to Sri Lanka's tortoise so far.

There's a fella in a blue sunhat trying really hard to start a Mexican wave in the West Stand. Two chaps in front of me, who would be at the end of the wave cycle, are urging him on, keen for it to get all the way around the ground.
Target 233
Joe Root rocks back and chips it a little aerially towards short third man.
Otherwise, it's no drama, tapping ones and twos.

Proves the old adage, never judge a pitch until both sides have batted on it.
Jon, Huddersfield
Can we have a rule to say all teams need to play at least 3 low scoring matches. Would prefer these kind of games any day over the wham bam stuff.

Pradeep 6-1-12-0
Nuwan Pradeep continues into his sixth over and sends down five dot balls before Joe Root drives out to the man at deep cover for a single.

The new stand has a fresh smell about it. You know the kind. Faintly of paint. It also has a slight dusting on the breeze blocks. I've counted at least three people who must have leant on a wall, because their backs on smeared with white stripes.
A poor man's Ian Bell!
Ian Bell has 22 Test centuries.

Ian Richards: Surely time for Moeen to open instead of Vince. Done it before and can take advantage of field. Vince just doesn’t get the big score.
Dan Stephens: James Vince is underlining why he's not worthy of being a regular first teamer at One Day or Test Match level (a poor man's Ian Bell). He's only there because Hales is a naughty boy.
