While the players take a breather, here's what's happened so far...
Ross Taylor calls Kane Williamson through for a quick single and everyone collectively holds their breath, but it's a long trip down to the turf for Carlos Brathwaite to field this, and they make it comfortably.
Lovely. Williamson and Taylor sensibly nurdle the ball around the field and take the smattering of singles on offer.

Typical Ross Taylor. He plays those cross-batted shots into the leg side so easily and powerfully.
Wallop!
Short from Jason Holder, sitting up, and Ross Taylor flogs a thunderous pull shot away for four.

Patrick: Some desperate England fans trying to transfer their team's dismal showing yesterday onto NZ and India. Own your own failure!
Williamson 23, Taylor 22
Now that is risky from Kane Williamson, driving Oshane Thomas on the up, and a leading edge drops short of the lurking fielders.
Four!
Oh, that seemed risky from Kane Williamson... a whirl of the wrists and he cuts Oshane Thomas past deep backward point for four. Actually, he's cleared the fielder by a mile. Ignore me.

This is exactly what Jason Holder wanted - a couple of quick wickets and his bowlers continuing to put the pressure on Williamson and Taylor.
Kemar Roach and his terrific figures of 6-2-15-0 are taking a breather.
Here's Oshane Thomas.

He's been looking for that. It's the show of dominance he wants to achieve.
Taylor 21, Williamson 19
Shot!
This has been coming. Down the pitch dances Ross Taylor and he heaves Jason Holder over deep mid-wicket for a one-bounce four. A single ends the over.
Airy from Ross Taylor, whipping Jason Holder through the off side, but the ball sticks in the pitch and it ends up trickling to the man at deep square leg.
Kane Williamson, meanwhile, does what Kane Williamson does, hopping onto his tours and guiding the ball through third man for a single.

New Zealand need 30-35 overs of batting from Kane Williamson and Ross Taylor.
Lovely from Kane Williamson, a straight drive as straight as they come, but Kemar Roach flings out a hand to take some pace off the ball and it'll just be two.
Tidy once again from Roach.
That first over was terrific value.
Run-rate 2.91
I find the height difference between Kane Williamson and Jason Holder very, very pleasing.

NZ 32-2
Short from Jason Holder - and Ross Taylor misses it completely!
Hmm.
Whoops, Jason Holder has overstepped.
Free hit coming up for Ross Taylor...
Kane Williamson has been dismissed three times in four against Jason Holder in ODI cricket before today.

If this was England batting like this we would be getting hammered in this platform, meanwhile one of the other teams favourite to win the competition New Zealand are two wickets down in the first over against WI so maybe we are not so bad after all
