These are the shots that had our tweeter down on one knee earlier.

    Majestic.

  2. Pak 54-0published at 8 overs

You earn your own luck, I guess. If Imam had been watchful then the slip wouldn't have been taken out.

A first real mistake from Imam. A perfect length from Chris Morris, not too full. It would've gone to first slip but they've had to put the fielder out on the off side because they keep getting smoked through there.

  4. Pak 54-0published at 7.5 overs

What's that saying about it raining and pouring?

Chris Morris finds Imam's edge but the ball goes in the big gap between the wicketkeeper and Hashim Amla who is standing at a wide first slip, effectively where a standard second slip would be.

Should be a wicket. Instead it's four runs.

A wonderful shot by Imam. When he gets himself going he plays low risk shots for four.

  6. Pak 50-0published at 7.1 overs

    Here comes Chris Morris...

And there goes Chris Morris. Imam drives him, slightly aerially for four down the ground.

Morris stomps away with his captain's eyes piercing the back of his head. Too many drives!

I've been hit on the body before and it doesn't hurt as much as you would think because you're all warm, the blood is coursing through your veins and the juices are flowing. If somebody threw a cricket ball at you as you got out of bed, it would hurt though!

Don't try this at home, kids!

    Imam 21, Fakhar 24

Fakhar Zaman will have a big bruise on his pec to remember this innings by now. He better go on and get a century to make it worth it.

He inside-edges a pull from Rabada into his body.

    Just two from Rabada's over.

  9. Pak 46-0published at 6.4 overs

A decent start to the over from Kagiso Rabada but will Pakistan find a boundary off the last couple of balls, as they have done in the last two overs?

  10. Postpublished at 10:57 British Summer Time 23 June 2019

An in-form Fakhar Zaman is a whole lot of fun...

He is a great player to watch when he's on form. A perfect bit of timing.

    Imam 20, Fakhar 24

My word. This is brilliant fun.

I'd be fuming if I was the bowler but love it if I was a Pakistan fan. Ngidi bowls a good over and ends it with a perfectly decent delivery but a swipe from Fakhar sends the ball into the stands for the first six.

Andile Phehlukwayo stands motionless with a look that says - how did you do that?

I don't understand why South Africa didn't try something different and let Chris Morris have the new ball.

  14. Pak 38-0published at 5.2 overs

Where has this Imam-ul-Haq been in the tournament? He plays another stunner of a drive. Finally a bit of relief for South Africa. Everything had found the gaps before that.

Everything is just missing the fielder. South Africa are in trouble.

Pakistan are going like a train.

  17. Pak 35-0published at 5 overs

Pakistan are flying. Fakhar throws his hands at the ball again and once it beats the in-field there's no chance of stopping it. Aiden Markram had thrown himself to his left at backward point and it would have been a spectacular catch. He couldn't get there, however.

  18. Postpublished at 10:50 British Summer Time 23 June 2019

Imam is all textbook beauty. Fakhar is a bit more agricultural but it's just as effective.

    Imam 16, Fakhar 13

I hate to tell you Dukkhaboy but this one might be even better!

The final delivery goes for four too and again it's a drive from Imam that finds the gap. This one wasn't a half-volley.

You may have gone too early with your proposal. Should have kept your options open.
