Mohammad Amir's excellent spell is over.

He would have had another wicket had this not squirmed from his grasp.

Rassie van der Dussen has posted scores of 50+ three of the last four times he's come into bat at number five for South Africa in this format.

Are you a pessimistic Pakistan fan or an over-confident South African, AS? This is Pakistan's game for me.

The required run-rate is now 9.93 for South Africa and these two are the last frontline batsmen before the all-rounders.

AS: You can tell this match will be so close. It's still anyone's game at this stage.

    Target 309

Wahab Riaz is back, looking a little grumpy. He was expensive in his first spell.

Miller takes a step towards the left-armer and clubs the ball for four.

Pakistan need an Aussie to arrive to rile Wahab. He always bowls best against them.

This is a great exhibition of medium pace bowling by Mohammad Amir. He looks to be in great rhythm.

  7. SA 151-4published at 34 overs

Van der Dussen 21, Miller 11

Everything changes when Amir is bowling. The crowd is alive and the Pakistan fans chant his name.

This has not been a bouncy pitch but Amir gets one to leap and hit Van der Dussen on the glove. Then one skids low and just misses off.

    Outstanding stuff.

You see Pakistan at their best when they have to win. They can improve their fielding for sure but they are getting there.

Seven from the over. Not enough I'm afraid.

Here's a reminder of the group stage table. Pakistan would still be in with a chance of reaching the semi-finals if they win.

South Africa are mathematically out with a defeat.

The wounded Miller skips down and punts Imad over extra for four.

South Africa need a lot more of that.

The required rate is up over nine.

  14. SA 143-4published at 32 overs

    Target 309

Mohammad Amir might get in trouble for this. He's furious that a caught behind hasn't been given. I think he's also angry with Sarfaraz for his half-hearted appeal. Sarfaraz didn't hear anything and I didn't either.

Not out. The replays confirm there was no edge.

Amir apologises to umpire Joel Wilson at the end of the over and gets a pat on the back.

That would have been a great caught and bowled!

  16. dropped catch

Miller dropped on 2published at 31.1 overs

    Argh. Almost another for Amir.

David Miller chips a leading edge back to him and he takes the catch but when his elbow hits the ground the ball pops out.

You can see the anguish on the bowler's face as the ball squirms away from him in slow motion.

  17. SA 140-4published at 31 overs

    Target 309

David Miller spent a lot of time off the field earlier with an injury and he's limping here as he runs between the wickets. I don't think there'll be too many quick singles. Pakistan are keeping the pressure on in the ring too and fizz the ball in to Sarfaraz's gloves.

    This was Shadab's second...

  20. SA 138-4published at 30 overs

Need another 171 runs to win

It was a cross-seamer that got the wicket from Amir. Did it skid on? As Swanny says it wasn't the best of shots from Du Plessis. He was trying to launch the ball over the leg side.

Amir has taken 2-14 from five overs. That's good.
