Steven F Galloway: As an England fan with dual New Zealand citizenship, this hasn't been the best two days of cricket, it must be said...

Kamal Khan Virk: Sarfaraz should bring Amir and finish this NZ innings under 150 runs.

Here's how Kane Williamson departed - did New Zealand's chances go with him?

  3. NZ 92-5published at 29.2 overs

Colin de Grandhomme isn't going to be here for long. He's played and missed at least four times already. No footwork whatsoever.

But the big lad then hits a rare boundary, plonking a delicious straight drive back for four!

New Zealand are being exposed a bit. We don't face this sort of spin and it's an unusual situation for them to be in. They can't find a way to score against Shadab Khan.

We could be on for a very low score indeed but it still could be a challenge to chase down...

New Zealand have been getting away with the batting slightly because they haven't been chasing many runs in this tournament so far. They've chased in all but one game so far and even when they batted first they didn't score enough runs really and it might be that the administration of the team are starting to think about a change.

Shadab is back in, an over after teasing out Kane Williamson, getting some drift and bounce. Big Colin has another ugly hoik at the ball, missing it altogether.

England's passage to the semi-finals, I don't think we could pick two worse pitches to play our next two games on! A slow turner at Edgbaston v India, and probably a seaming green top up north v NZ.

That was a horrible shot from De Grandhomme to end the over. It was just a waft.

Pakistan are all over New Zealand here.

  12. NZ 86-5published at 28 overs

My issue/moan about ODIs during this tournament has been the middle overs when the fielding side don't look like taking wickets and the batsmen just milk five or six singles off every over. Dull.

Not today. Every ball has menace behind it, every run is treasured. Yes it's low scoring but it's so much more compelling to watch. Genuine jeopardy.

The opening partnership just isn't scoring for New Zealand at the moment. You'd think Colin Munro is starting to look in trouble. New Zealand aren't changing their team to suit the pitches or conditions. Ish Sodhi would have been a good selection on this wicket.

  14. ouch!

    NZ 85-5published at 27.3 overs

Jimmy Neesham ducks away as Wahab was in his bowling stride as something flies into his face, the bowler pulls out and hurts his back in mid action. His next ball is a beauty as well...

Sarfaraz thinks long and hard about reviewing that for a catch but eventually declines.

Incredibly there are people texting in to complain about the atmosphere on the radio. I'm lost for words.

It sounds absolutely superb at Edgbaston today.

Starc, Amir, Shaheen, Behrendorff and the rest. All these left arm fast bowlers picking up wickets for fun, and England leave theirs at home for a spinner that won't even play a game. Despite him being a key player in this team for years...

    De Grandhomme 1, Neesham 19

What's a salvageable score from here?! 180? Even that looks a long way off as Shadab gets another one to turn nastily.

Trent Boult and Lockie Ferguson may enjoy bowling on this track of course but so far this has been superb from Pakistan.

Colin de Grandhomme is the new batsman. This feels more like a Test match and it's all the better for it in my opinion!

Williamson has got a villainous little edge. He's played forward at a leg break. It's the perfect length and even though he's well forward, it's just taken the shoulder of the bat.
