  1. NZ 124-5published at 35 overs

Need 120 more runs to win

Tom Latham sweeps hard but still only manages a single. It's flat. Very flat.

  2. NZ 121-5published at 34.3 overs

Make that three consecutive dot balls.

  3. NZ 121-5published at 34.2 overs

The wicket for Steve Smith isn't enough to earn him another over. Glenn Maxwell is back with two left-handers at the crease.

    Two more dot balls.

What a strange run chase! I have not quite got my head around it. More like a 'run walk'. They have backed themselves into a corner.

    Target 244

These low scoring games have been great and widely praised but how long until people are asking for 380s and 400s again?

This has been a strange chase. New Zealand just faced too many dot balls in the first 25 overs.

Lyon only concedes one in his latest over. 0-15 from six overs.

  6. NZ 120-5published at 33 overs

Need 124 runs from 102 balls

Was that an off-spinner from Steve Smith? I think so. He is mixing it up.

The wicket was his first in ODIs since November 2014.

That will cause much humour in the Australia dressing room. He wanted to hit it wide of long off, but didn't quite get it - hit it a little high on the bat.

That will put more pressure on the New Zealand batsman, they don't want to be out in 39 overs or so.

    De Grandhomme c Khawaja b Smith 0 (NZ 118-5)

Steve Smith is mobbed by his team-mates as he has a wide grin on his face. He has taken a wicket with the first ball of his spell. Colin de Grandhomme has put his first ball down long-off's throat.

More boos from the Lord's crowd. Yep. Our Stevie is back for another bowl.

  12. NZ 118-4published at 32 overs

    Target 244

Apparently that ball was in the air for six seconds. It doesn't sound is long when you say it like that but just think about it, count it in your head.

That's a long time to wait for a catch with everyone staring at you.

The signs were there that Taylor wasn't going to keep patting it around. He wanted to take the game more to the bowler and he wanted to do it to a ball he thought was up far enough, but he hit underneath it and it was a steepler.

Carey shimmied around like a boxer, sank to his knees and was grateful it lodged in his gloves.

They are in slight danger of implosion.

    Taylor c Carey b Cummins 30 (NZ 118-4)

    Ah.

Ross Taylor goes, trying to hit a big shot. He attempts a hoik to leg but gets a leading edge and the ball flies into the evening sky. It goes way, way up with some serious hang time. Alex Carey would have been getting a stiff neck, he had to look up for that long, but he holds on to the catch.

  15. NZ 116-3published at 31.1 overs

A boundary! Ross Taylor clubs behind square on the leg side.

    More of that please.

At least New Zealand were able to get the ball into vacant areas, but they were only singles. It's not a surface where you get into good nick

  17. NZ 112-3published at 31 overs

    Target 244

It does feel a long time ago. The answer is in the 25th over. Too long ago from a New Zealand perspective.

Ross Taylor gets out the reverse sweep but rather than twirling the bat around in his hand, he just uses the back of his bat to hit to third man. It's only a single. Four of them in the over.

Taylor has 25 from 51, Latham 11 from 21. How good does Alex Carey's knock look now?

  20. NZ 108-3published at 30 overs

Ross Taylor gets a nasty one on the glove. One run from Cummins' over.

Here's the BIG moment of this chase - the wicket of Kane Williamson.
