  1. Eng 5-0published at 0.5 overs

Jonny Bairstow's first ball - and he creams it through the covers for four.

    Nerve settler?

Width from Jason Behrendorff, not a total long hop though. Shot!

Jason Roy gets himself and England off the mark, slicing it off a thick outside edge down to third man for a single.

    Just 223 more to go...

If Australia are going to defend this small total they have to come out here and take some early wickets.

Right, none of you have done any work today. Even the doctors.

    No need to start now.

Here come England openers Jonny Bairstow and Jason Roy.

    Go well.

We had a doctor tweet in earlier to ask if patients would notice that he was checking the scores. May be more common than we think...

Turns out they do notice! (If you're using the screen to show patient info sheets and you've accidently left the live text page up. Patient was v understanding - it is Eng v Aus after all).

Went to the hospital a couple of weeks ago, the consultant went very quiet while looking at my notes. I asked is there a problem? Yes. After another few seconds he added, Pakistan have just lost another wicket. I hadn't noticed his smartphone was on silent and he was watching the cricket.

Michael Clarke is here. The last time Australia played in a World Cup semi-final I accidentally asked him about his sex life.

An emphatic end to a sublime bowling display? Sure.

Australia 223 all out. England need 224 to face New Zealand in Sunday's World Cup final.

But Jos Buttler then ran out Steve Smith for a fine 85 with a stunning throw.

    He nutmegged him! Re-mark-able.

And next ball, Mitchell Starc was gone too.

And another for Rashid, finishing with a superb 3-54 from his 10 overs.

    Enter Adil Rashid.

It's not been the easiest tournament for the leg-spinner but he struck with two vital wickets in an over.

That brought out the dangerous Glenn Maxwell...until Jofra Archer got him with a superb knuckle ball.

There is always a partnership though.

Steve Smith and Alex Carey fought back to put on 103.

Australia won the toss and elected to bat. Not what England wanted.

    They needed a good start.

They got a deliriously brilliant one.

    Thanks Matt.

You know that thing where you don't want to say or do anything that you feel might jinx it.

How do you stop your brain doing that?

This is England. It won't be simple but the bowlers have given the batsman a big chance. The dream of a World Cup final is on.

Joe Root to get a hundred and see it home? That's my prediction.

I'll be back later. Jack Skelton is here to recap that England bowling performance. Stay tuned for the highlights.

England fast bowler Jofra Archer, who took 2-32: "From the New Zealand game it's all been a semi-final for us so we just need to keep winning.

"Maxwell was my favourite wicket because he got me out at Lord's so it's good to get him back. Smith batted really well today, especially on this pitch.

"It nipped a lot more than it swung so we held the ball back and used more cross-seam deliveries."

Do you think you will bat today? "Hopefully not."
