Do you think the patients notice when I check "the computer" more than usual during the consultation?

    Tom

Love seeing the viewing figures on the page go up up up... come on you boys in blue!!

Freddie, London (meant to be working)

Me and my colleague are taking full credit! We've been taking it in turns to leave the desk - two wickets have gone each time. We've managed 6 between us!

    Emma Smallwood

What have we learned today so far? Literally nobody in the UK does any work. A shambles.

There isn’t an England supporter in the house who wouldn’t have taken a 224 chase when Australia won the toss four hours ago. In a World Cup of low totals and failed chases there can be no counting of chickens, but England’s bowlers have given their batsmen a golden chance.

England look happy as they walk off. Jofra Archer has his arm wrapped around Adil Rashid.

The supporters applaud. Half of the job is done but there's a long way to go.

Take nothing for granted - as we've seen in this World Cup, chasing runs when the pressure is on is tricky.

But that was brilliant from England - everyone came to the party.

Well we'd all have taken that when Australia won the toss, wouldn't we?

It doesn't get any better than that - a 90mph yorker to finish off the Aussies.

A beauty! England finish the job they started so well.

  8. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 49 overs

Behrendorff b Wood 1 (Aus 223 all out)

Full, quick and too good for Jason Behrendorff.

    England have bowled Australia out.

They will need 224 runs to win to reach the World Cup final.

  9. Aus 222-9published at 48.4 overs

Buttler's throw to run-out Smith actually went between the batsman's legs. Remarkable. The fine margins this match could be decided by.

  10. Aus 220-9published at 48.3 overs

Australia nudge to 220. Another psychological landmark or am I just a pessimist?

  11. Aus 219-9published at 48.2 overs

That magic bit of fielding from Jos Buttler gets better and better with every viewing. Stand by for a clip.

Nathan Lyon isn't the worst number 11 in the world but he certainly isn't the best. A dot is followed by a leg-bye.

Vince Kenny: Normal me says that anything under 280 is a cakewalk for this England team. However, I've supported this side for over 40 years. It's going to be a torrid four hours!

Colin Pidgeon: Is it worth remembering that @englandcricket, external nearly made a hash of chasing 199 against @Irelandcricket, external in May.

  14. Aus 218-9published at 48 overs

Two wickets and crucially only one run from Chris Woakes' over.

Both he and Jos Buttler deserve a big pat on the back.

    Two overs to go.

He would've been out by a mile with a direct hit. A classic number 10 and 11 single.

  16. Aus 218-9published at 47.4 overs

Almost another run-out. Jos Buttler misses with the throw this time and Jason Behrendorff would have been well short.

England need to keep Australia to as few as possible... obviously.

Smith knew he was gone, but still waited, turned, saw his fate confirmed on the big screen and departed, shaking his head all the way. Booed on, booed off, he has a played a magnificent innings, one that has just about kept his team alive.

  18. Aus 217-9published at 47.3 overs

It looked like Australia were on for 240. Now that looks a long way off. Last man Nathan Lyon blocks the 'team hat-trick ball'

Two in two! Mitchell Starc has a swish and edges through to Jos Buttler.

England are stealing the momentum at the end of this innings.
