  1. Aus 206-7published at 45 overs

    Smith 82, Starc 22

Not a good over from Liam Plunkett. A six off the first ball, a few singles, a wide and a four to Smith off the final ball.

This partnership is now worth 40. Eeeek.

  2. Aus 202-7published at 44.5 overs

England will want to bowl Australia out for less than 250 - less than 225 if possible.

Before anyone starts crowing let's not forget there is Starc, Lyon and Cummins to face and if Aus are struggling to score so will we! I seem to remember a New Zealand v India game .....250 is a very good score!!!

    Keith P, Coventry

Haven't really followed cricket properly since the 2009 Ashes while I still played at high school. This world cup has pulled me back and some!

    Jack, Worcester

  4. Aus 200-7published at 44.3 overs

It has taken them until the 45th over but Australia have brought up the 200.

    Alastair Cook
    Former England captain on TMS

A fantastic shot - he picked the slower ball straight away.

But it's another indication this is a good batting wicket. You can't do that on a bad pitch.

  6. 6 runs

    Aus 198-7published at 44.1 overs

Not what Liam Plunkett was after. His slower ball is punted down the ground for six by Starc.

If Starc can do that surely Jason Roy will be able to later?

    Look for the positives.

  7. Aus 192-7published at 44 overs

The Aussies has plenty of experience in their coaching team. Justin Langer, Ricky Ponting and Brad Haddin all watch on.

More applause at the end of the over from the England fans. Six from the over.

That was the first boundary since the 34th over.

That shows it's a good wicket to bat on.

It was in the slot and he's got those long levers to hammer it back down the ground.

  11. Aus 190-7published at 43.2 overs

Ah. That's a good shot. Wood goes full again but it's not quite full enough. Starc nails it for four back past the bowler.

  12. Aus 186-7published at 43.1 overs

More of that please. Mark Wood bowls a searing yorker to Starc, the type of thing Starc will be bowling later.

Starc just digs it out. No run.

Decided to wear chinos to work for the very first time ever today... 100% taking credit for this performance

  15. Aus 186-7published at 43 overs

    Smith 77, Starc 9

England are buzzing in the field. Steve Smith is getting more and more animated as he misses out on a wide delivery from Plunkett. The boundaries aren't coming for Australia.

A lot of hands on heads there, suggesting if that had hit, Smith would've been in trouble. But I think he would've been in with the dive.

  17. Aus 182-7published at 42.2 overs

Fumble from Joe Root... Smith runs... Tight with a direct hit...! Misses.

Eoin Morgan has his hands on his head.

I just think England will be comfortable chasing 220, 230.

  19. Aus 181-7published at 42 overs

    Smith 74, Starc 7

I've said it so many times but I'm still not sure how Steve Smith bats like this and scores so many runs. Mark Wood bowls a good delivery that is arrowed towards his pads and Smith just flicks it away to fine leg. He looks like he should be out lbw over and over again but just hits the ball with his bat every time. Simple, ey?

Another over without a boundary goes by.

  20. Aus 178-7published at 41.3 overs

Merv Hughes is looking pretty glum sitting with his touring party in the stands.
