Shot! Adil Rashid's first ball of the over is slog swept for four by Kane Williamson to cow corner. Great hit.
England need a wicket here.

Am I the only one looking at the ball moving sideways and thinking NZ are doing seriously well here?

That was a brute. Real hostility from Mark Wood.
Williamson 17, Nicholls 40
Mark Wood has been a bit too leg-sided at times and is flicked away, before Henry Nicholls just guides a cut to the fence. Good shot!
That's the 50 partnership. A very safe duo out there in the middle. Ben Stokes is signing autographs inbetween balls.
Pressure? What pressure?
Wood then fires in a snorter, bit of chin music, nostril high and Henry Nicholls fends it away off his gloves but it drops safe. Good ball!

This is an intriguing phase - it's quite subdued from both teams.

Marcus70: Wish we had four Woakes, the only one bowling the right length.
Williamson 15, Nicholls 35
Kane Williamson charges Adil Rashid and spanks him for a drive - straight to the fielder. Frustration for the New Zealand skipper. He then clubs Rashid towards long on, over the infield and short of the sweeper there.
He wants to get after the spinner. Seven off the over.

New Zealand went really hard at home in the last World Cup but have changed their approach here.

New Zealand are looking at 250-270 at least and then they can rely on their bowlers and are an exceptional fielding side.
Mark Wood still into the 90s as he roars in, there's plenty of sawdust appeared in the footmarks at one end during that drinks break. New Zealand continue to trundle along.
This is now Nicholls' high score of the tournament, beating his 28 v India in the semi-final. It's his 4th innings.

Remember the Gareth Southgate lookalike from Russia last year? The fella who used to dress up as the Queen at Test matches? He's here. In a waistcoat.
Williamson 9, Nicholls 32
The score predictor has New Zealand up to 300 now. That would take some chasing today I reckon, even if England have scored 1,000 more runs than New Zealand in this World Cup.

Test Match Special statistician
Nicholls scored 10 from his first 31 balls but has 21 off his last 14.
Well placed! Ben Stokes can't cut off a pull from Henry Nicholls as he paddles a short one from Plunkett away for four. Right into the gap.

Riccardo Mantio: Some people going after Plunkett - you literally are the most fickle bunch.
Mark: Some people have short memories, forget how vital Plunkett has been to this team over past four years.
The players are rubbing their hands together to keep warm during this break. A classic English summer's day...
