A bit of width from Josh Davey and the ball is flailed away through the covers by Luke Wood for four.

That's 200 for Notts in 324 balls, but still plenty of work for the hosts to do after losing five wickets this morning.

He's keeping it tight, with just a couple of runs off the bat in his two overs since his return.

Tom Bailey to bowl next. Honours even at Lord's methinks, which as ever, looks a real picture.

Mr Williams Snr has very kindly done the honours for us at The Oval where he tells me don't be fooled by the bright sunshine as the mercury is still struggling to rise.

    Roll on mid-summer I say.

  6. Somerset take six at Trent Bridgepublished at 14:57 British Summer Time 11 April 2019

    Notts 189-6 v Somerset

Luke Wood gets a wide one from Tom Abell and drives fluently through the covers for four.

Notts within touching distance of a first batting point and Lewis Gregory, to bowl the next over, needs one more for a five wicket haul.

  7. Robinson making strong start to new campaignpublished at 14:55 British Summer Time 11 April 2019

    Durham 81-4 v Sussex

    Adrian Harms
    Sports reporter, BBC Sussex

Having taken over 70 Championship wickets last season, the question was whether Ollie Robinson could repeat that performance.

The answer so far is yes, taking six wickets last week against Leicestershire and so far another three today.

Even more impressive is his recovery from hip surgery in the winter, and with Jofra Archer likely to be missing from the Sussex attack for the next few weeks, a fit Robinson is vitally important for Sussex.

  8. Notts six down at Trent Bridgepublished at 14:52 British Summer Time 11 April 2019

    Notts 182-6 v Somerset

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

Somerset have a second bowling point and Lewis Gregory has a fourth wicket.

The seamer sends Samit Patel’s leg and off stumps out of the ground and in opposite directions as he reduces the hosts to 177-6.

Patel made 33 and shared in a stand of 58 with Tom Moores.

  9. 50 runs

50 for Ben Foakespublished at 14:48 British Summer Time 11 April 2019

Ben Foakes looking in imperious form as he continues to punish his former county for dropping him cheaply after lunch.

  10. wicket

WICKET Gubbins lbw b Bailey 55published at 14:46 British Summer Time 11 April 2019

    Middx 126-2 v Lancs

    Got him!

Nick Gubbins plays around a Tom Bailey ball that straightens and pins him plumb in front.

The end of a promising innings.

Middlesex captain Dawid Malan joins Eskinazi in the middle.

50 for Gary Ballancepublished at 14:44 British Summer Time 11 April 2019

Half-century time again at the Ageas Bowl as Gary Ballance reaches his 50.

It's come off 102 balls with six fours to go alongside the two centuries and a double century he has struck on this ground in the past.

  12. wicket

WICKET Patel b Gregory 33published at 14:44 British Summer Time 11 April 2019

    Notts 177-6 v Somerset

    Absolute jaffa.

Samit Patel is late on the drive and Lewis Gregory somehow uproots the off and the leg stump, leaving the middle standing.

    Ahem... Commentator's curse. Again.

Four wickets in the innings for Gregory.

  13. Patel and Moores rebuild at Trent Bridgepublished at 14:43 British Summer Time 11 April 2019

    Notts 177-5 v Somerset

A rare over-pitched ball from Lewis Gregory is driven imperiously through mid-off for four by Moores.

After having nearly everything their way this morning, Somerset are being given a much sterner test this afternoon.

  14. Warwickshire toil at Edgbastonpublished at 14:40 British Summer Time 11 April 2019

    Warwks v Kent 151-1

A slice of luck for Zak Crawley as he edges a length ball that brushes the edge of the bat, keeps low and runs away wide of the slips for four.

That takes the Kent score past the 150 mark in 258 balls.

The unlucky bowler is Ryan Sidebottom.

  15. Notts recovering at Trent Bridgepublished at 14:37 British Summer Time 11 April 2019

    Notts 172-5 v Somerset

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

Samit Patel and Tom Moores are moving Notts back towards an even keel after batting throughout the first hour of the afternoon at Trent Bridge.

Patel has been driving crisply – straight and through the covers – to move on to 32.

Moores has punched a couple of emphatic square cuts to the boards, with 26* not out - in a partnership now worth 52.

  16. Abell into the attackpublished at 14:35 British Summer Time 11 April 2019

    Notts 171-5 v Somerset

Somerset captain Tom Abell brings himself on to bowl.

Tidy enough for the first fibve balls but the sixth is well wide of off stump and clattered through the coveres for four by Tom Moores.

That's the 50 partnership between him and Patel in 92 balls - and a welcome respite after losing five wickets this morning.

  17. wicket

WICKET Burnham lbw b Robinson 0published at 14:33 British Summer Time 11 April 2019

    Durham 63-4 v Sussex

Durham lose another wicket cheaply and Ollie Robinson has three to his name now for Sussex.

Jack Burnham doesn't trouble the scorers as he's trapped leg before on his back pad.

Cameron Bancroft continues to battle on at the other end.

  18. Tykes prepare to bat longpublished at 14:29 British Summer Time 11 April 2019

    Yorkshire 141-2 v Hampshire

    Kevan James
    BBC Radio Solent commentator

    RootImage source, Rex Features

Joe Root (24 not out) and Gary Ballance (41 not out), who both hit unbeaten hundreds in the second innings in their last game at Nottinghamshire, look as though they are preparing for another long partnership here at the Ageas Bowl.

Both are taking few chances as they accumulate runs rather than dictate play.

Hampshire can do no more than bowl to plans and bowl as accurately as they can. This they have done.

Keith Barker has beaten the outside edge a few times. Kyle Abbott and Fidel Edwards have bowled well.

But you already feel that only mistakes by the top-order batsmen will prevent the Tykes building a sizable first innings score.

  19. Kent make hay at Edbastonpublished at 14:27 British Summer Time 11 April 2019

    Warwks v Kent 139-1

Another fine shot from Crawley - who sweeps Jeetan Patel to the square leg boundary and takes the second wicket partnership to 50 in 97 balls.

Looks like another tough session in the field for Warwickshire.

  20. Kent showing defiance at the creasepublished at 14:26 British Summer Time 11 April 2019

    Warwickshire v Kent 139-1

    Ben Watts
    Sports reporter, BBC Radio Kent

    Matt RenshawImage source, PA

Kent’s batsmen are doing a good job of banishing any ill-memories from last year's promotion-decider defeat here at Warwickshire and the second innings batting collapse at Taunton last week.

Zak Crawley has batted fluently on what looks like a decent surface, hitting thirteen boundaries so far, as he eyes three figures.

The 21-year-old has been joined by Australian Matt Renshaw - who has a point to prove after only scoring five in two innings against his former county last week - following an opening stand of 82 with Sean Dickson (31).
