That's about it from us, on a day when England's women won... and the men didn't. Plenty more cricket over the weekend on the BBC from the Men's World Cup, including a double-header tomorrow, with more county games starting on Tuesday.

You can read Matt Henry's match report of today's game at Northampton - and Matt (not to be confused with the NZ pace bowler Matt Henry) will be in this chair when the England-West Indies women's series concludes on Tuesday at Derby. Make sure you join him then... but enjoy your weekend.

Katherine Brunt returned to help blow away the tail and finished with 2-22, while there were also wickets for Shrubsole, Ecclestone and Sciver, plus two for Linsey Smith, in a good all-round bowling performance.

Chedean Nation hit a couple of sixes to keep West Indies interested, but became the fourth player of the day to be run out:

England were without Heather Knight in the field because of a hamstring problem, but they gave spinner Linsey Smith the first over and it paid off brilliantly as she removed the dangerous Hayley Matthews.

The run-out of Stafanie Taylor was another key moment.

Amy Jones hit the only six of the innings - but it's shown how far England have come that they made 180-6 in 20 overs, and were still disappointed.

Here's that six and a few of the other dismissals, including one of the two run-outs:

Danni Wyatt led the way for England - despite riding her luck and being dropped on 14 and 17, she made 81 from 55 balls before being caught at backward point.

More from Danni Wyatt, after England's 14th successive win in all formats: "I think there are probably a few things to work on but it’s good to get another win and keep the run going.

"We just want to keep trying to deliver our best every game and push ourselves to improve all the time. Hopefully we can make it 15 wins at Derby on Tuesday.”

Sarah Taylor is so switched on in situations like that. Such a good stumping.

Player of the match Danni Wyatt: "It was great to get back out there in a T20. I enjoyed myself and it was nice to get some runs.

"We thought we had a decent score at the break but the Windies pushed us hard and made us work for the win, which was a really good test for us.

"With the bat we ran hard and accelerated well towards the end. I think the bowlers did well. There were a few pressure overs that became quite important when the Windies were going big and they delivered to keep us ahead of the game."

Player of the match is Danni Wyatt for her 81 from 55 balls at the top of the order.

We'll hope to hear from her, and the skippers, shortly.

It may not be the Ashes, but this is still international cricket - remember the criticism of the men's series against Pakistan, when people said it wasn't important. Heather Knight will say, every time you go out and represent your country, you go out as hard as you can.

  15. Postpublished at 22:13 British Summer Time 21 June 2019

As the TMS commentators alluded to, not a perfect day for England. But for the sake of the series, that's the most amount of fight and passion that West Indies have shown so far - and England will have wanted to be tested ahead of the Women's Ashes which is less than a fortnight ago.

It was a very workmanlike win. But very satisfying knowing what England could achieve if they get everything right.

So, England take a 1-0 lead in the T20 series, with one game to come.

And, they extend their record to 14 successive wins in completed games in all formats.

Shamilia Connell, helmetless and capless, strides out at number 11 as the players go through the motions for the last over - can Linsey Smith pick up a third wicket?

Fletcher threads a four through the covers - and there's then a bizarre conclusion to the game as there's confusion over how many balls remain in the over - is there one more to come? No - England win by 42 runs.

It has been encouraging for the fans here and the neutral that the West Indies middle order all have a strike-rate of 100 or above.
