WICKET Abell c Brook b Fisher 6published at 16:38 British Summer Time 14 July 2019

    Yorkshire 520, Somerset 8-1

Somerset make a dreadful start as they try to stay in this match at Headingley following Yorkshire's 520. Tom Abell nicks Matthew Fisher to third slip and centurion Harry Brook takes the catch.

  8. 50 runs

Half century for Bell-Drummondpublished at 16:34 British Summer Time 14 July 2019

    Hampshire 409-9 dec, Kent 178-2

Daniel Bell-Drummond follows Joe Denly to his 50 at the Rose Bowl.

They are almost halfway to the matching hosts' score in a game probably already destined to be a draw.

  9. 50 runs

for Jamie Smithpublished at 16:28 British Summer Time 14 July 2019

    Surrey 240 & 105-4, Nottinghamshire 116

Jamie Smith reaches his 50 from 99 balls as Surrey's recovery continues. His half-century has included seven fours, with the latest, a straight drive, taking him to the milestone.

Surrey's lead is now 229 runs. Significant.

  10. Roland-Jones puts Middlesex on toppublished at 16:03 British Summer Time 14 July 2019

    Middlesex 384 & 33-2, Glamorgan 171

    Nick Webb
    BBC Wales Sport

Middlesex seamer Toby Roland-Jones continued his purple patch with four wickets on day two in Cardiff as Glamorgan were bowled out for an inadequate 171.

David Lloyd, top scorer with 67, was one of his victims before Tom Helm returned to claim his five-for by bowling Marchant de Lange.

A lead of 213 was not enough to persuade Dawid Malan to enforce the follow-on with the visitors reluctant to bat last on a pitch of variable bounce.

Although the in-form Lukas Carey struck early to remove Steven Eskinazi, caught at second slip, and Nick Gubbins edged Michael Hogan to slip, Middlesex have a huge advantage.

  11. WARWICKSHIRE BOWLED OUTpublished at 16:02 British Summer Time 14 July 2019

    Essex 245, Warwickshire 161

Aaron Beard gets the final Warwickshire wicket to earn his side an 84-run first-innings lead.

Bears captain Jeetan Patel is the last man to go, bowled for 23.

Peter Siddle finishes with 5-33 after his pre-tea burst of four wickets in five overs.

That meant a delayed tea interval, while they waited for the final wicket to fall. But those thirsty Essex pacemen can now enjoy a well earned cuppa.

  12. Teatime at Southamptonpublished at 16:01 British Summer Time 14 July 2019

    Hampshire 409-9 dec, Kent 158-2

Kent look in a decent position as they respond well to Hampshire's 409-9.

England Ashes contender Joe Denly is looking particularly fluent on 68, while Daniel Bell-Drummond is on 42.

The two Kent batters have put on 144 in the session.

  13. YORKSHIRE 520 ALL OUTpublished at 15:58 British Summer Time 14 July 2019

    Yorkshire 520 v Somerset

Harry Brook goes for it immediately after reaching three figures and it doesn't quite work. He's caught on the long-off boundary by Azhar Ali for a brilliant 101, giving Somerset skipper Tom Abell an unlikely wicket. Yorkshire make a mammoth 520 and that is tea.

  14. Tea at Old Traffordpublished at 15:57 British Summer Time 14 July 2019

    Lancashire 371-5, Sussex 127

    Adrian Harms
    Sports reporter, BBC Sussex

Sussex needed wickets with the new ball and have taken two but Lancashire are still in complete command at Old Trafford. The lead at tea is 244 with 5 wickets in hand, and skipper Dane Vilas ominously 52 not out.

The Sussex spinners have bowled tidily but without any real threat, and have not found the consistent help the Lancashire spinners extracted from the pitch yesterday.

  15. Teatime in Canterburypublished at 15:51 British Summer Time 14 July 2019

Australian XI 220-3 v England Lions

The Australians go to tea against England Lions looking well set.

Former Yorkshire and Worcestershire batsman Travis Head (74) and ex-Warwickshire T20 wicketkeeper Matthew Wade (55) have both made half-centuries in an 119-run unbroken partnership.

  16. 100 runs

for Harry Brookpublished at 15:50 British Summer Time 14 July 2019

    Yorkshire 520-9 v Somerset

It's been a nervous spell in the nineties for Harry Brook as he's tried to farm the strike during his partnership with number 11 Duanne Olivier but he gets to his first century of the season from 127 balls - it's contained 11 boundaries.

He's the third Yorkshire batsman to three figures in this innings after Gary Ballance and Tom Kohler-Cadmore. What a platform they've laid against the County Championship leaders.

  17. Ashwin bowls Borthwick with final ball before teapublished at 15:42 British Summer Time 14 July 2019

    Surrey 240 & 78-4, Nottinghamshire 116

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

Career best figures of 8-61 from Amar Virdi helped Surrey to a first-innings advantage of 116 runs over Nottinghamshire.

The 20-year old had conceded 21 runs from his first 10 wicketless overs then got on a sensational roll to help dismiss the home side inside 53 overs.

Batting for a second time, the visitors were soon in trouble themselves but recovered to reach tea on 78-4, leading by 202.

Ravi Ashwin opened the bowling for Notts and needed only three deliveries before getting Ryan Patel lbw for a first-ball nought.

He also removed Dean Elgar (13) for the second time in the match and Liam Patterson-White also removed Rory Burns for five.

For the second day running Scott Borthwick (18) fell to the final ball before tea, bowled by Ashwin, leaving Jamie Smith undefeated on 41.

  19. wicket

WICKET Stone c Wheater b Siddle 0published at 15:36 British Summer Time 14 July 2019

    Essex 245, Warwickshire 134-9

Four wickets have gone down for eight runs at Chelmsford.

All to Peter Siddle, who now has a 'five-fer'.

The second of his career. And, just like Kent's Darren Stevens earlier today, the 23rd of his first-class career.

Olly Stone is caught behind - and the end is nigh for the Bears, you'd think?

  20. 100 runs

Century stand at Canterburypublished at 15:34 British Summer Time 14 July 2019

Australian XI 208-3 v England Lions

Travis Head (73) and Matthew Wade (44) have reached a century partnership at Canterbury against England Lions.

Five Lions bowlers have had a trundle now - and it certainly does not look like there's anything in it yet for the spinner.

Somerset's Jack Leach has so far gone for 46 off 10 overs.
