England have named their squad for the one-off Women's Ashes Test against Australia which they desperately need to win. Their hopes of winning the multi-format series against Australia are all but over after losing the three one-day internationals.

But they've been handed a major boost after emerging left-arm spinner Kirstie Gordon and veteran fast bowler Katherine Brunt were both passed fit.

It's been a good morning for the Australia XI at Canterbury as they took the final four England Lions wickets for just 35 runs, bowling the hosts out for 267.

The most notable contribution from the perspective of a potential England call-up came from Surrey all-rounder Sam Curran who made 50 before being stumped by Australia captain Tim Paine while trying to take on the left-arm spin of Jon Holland. Curran's having quite a match after taking 6-95 in the first innings.

It's been a good response from the Lions as Jamie Porter had Joe Burns caught for nine just before the interval.

  4. Denly leg-spin triggers Hampshire collapsepublished at 13:21 British Summer Time 16 July 2019

    Hampshire 409-9 dec & 196-5 v Kent 555

How things have changed in Southampton just prior to lunch.

It looked as though Hampshire were going to comfortably bat to safety and perhaps even set up a mini run-chase for Kent later on. Then 184-2 became 186-5.

Either side of Ollie Rayner getting rid of Ian Holland for 69, England batsman Joe Denly showed he can do more than just score 154 on a batting wicket by using his leg-spin to get rid of Rilee Rossouw for 66 and Gareth Berg for a duck.

All of the momentum is with Kent now. The Hampshire lead is just 50.

  5. Lunch at Chelmsfordpublished at 13:16 British Summer Time 16 July 2019

    Warwickshire 171-7 v Essex (target 401)

    Nick Gledhill
    BBC Essex

With Somerset's defeat by Yorkshire at Headingley, Essex are now poised to take over at the top of the County Championship table ahead of the T20 break.

Although Michael Burgess and Henry Brookes shared an enterprising half-century stand before lunch there looks to be no way back for Warwickshire after Simon Harmer took four wickets in 20 deliveries to effectively end their hopes of batting through the day. All this after he dropped a relatively simple chance at second slip.

Essex look like making it six wins out of six at Chelmsford. It has been an extraordinary run that might set up a second title win in three years.

  6. Lunch at Chester-le-Streetpublished at 13:13 British Summer Time 16 July 2019

    Worcestershire 139-5 v Durham (target 352)

Durham started like a house on fire this morning, with Chris Rushworth snaring both Ross Whiteley and Callum Ferguson to complete his five-for. But the visitors have fought back through Ed Barnard (42) and Ben Cox (40), with the Worcestershire duo adding an unbroken 83.

  7. Lunch at Cheltenhampublished at 13:10 British Summer Time 16 July 2019

    Leicestershire 252, Gloucestershire 83-2

Leicestershire seamer Mo Abbas got rid of Miles Hammond in the first over of the day for a duck and the only other wicket to fall is one the visitors will not be happy with. Gareth Roderick run out for 22. Chris Dent's there on 50 and Tom Smith's on seven.

  8. wicket

WICKET Brookes c Buttleman b Quinn 27published at 12:53 British Summer Time 16 July 2019

    Warwickshire 163-7 v Essex (target 401)

Henry Brookes goes down swinging for Warwickshire but the umpire takes a while to give it!

He initially shook his head at the Essex appeals but appears to consult the square-leg umpire, who confirms Brookes did get bat on Matt Quinn's ball, which goes through to sub keeper Will Buttleman.

An odd dismissal but Warwickshire are 163-7 - Brookes scoring 27 off 25 - and delaying the inevitable now.

  9. wicket

WICKET Berg lbw Denly 0published at 12:47 British Summer Time 16 July 2019

    Hampshire 409-9 dec & 186-5 v Kent 555

Gareth Berg has his second pair of the season as Joe Denly strikes again for Kent!

The ball keeps low and gets him on the pad as he looks to cut the ball - not what was required for Hampshire after already losing two quick wickets.

The hosts are now 186-5 - ahead by just 40 - and Kent can certainly smell blood.

  10. YORKSHIRE BEAT SOMERSET BY AN INNINGS & 73 RUNSpublished at 12:43 British Summer Time 16 July 2019

    Yorkshire 520, Somerset 196 & 251

Yorkshire's captain Steve Patterson steps forward on the fourth morning to complete victory for his side, finishing things by trapping Craig Overton lbw for 23. His four wickets this morning took him to the milestone of 400 in first-class cricket.

More importantly, his team have completed an emphatic victory over the Championship leaders. Somerset captain Tom Abell won the toss and chose to bowl in this match at Headingley. Yorkshire then scored 520.

    Oh dear. It happens though.

Should Essex complete victory over Warwickshire later then they'll be the new pacesetters in Division One.

  11. NORTHANTS BEAT DERBYSHIRE BY 72 RUNSpublished at 12:41 British Summer Time 16 July 2019
    Breaking

    Derbyshire 246 v Northants (target 319)

Derbyshire had a real slog at the end but all proves in vain as Northamptonshire complete victory before lunch on day three at Chesterfield.

Ravi Rampaul is out for 20, Ben Sanderson having him caught by Temba Bavuma.

    Impressive away win that.

WICKET Holland c Robinson b Rayner 69published at 12:39 British Summer Time 16 July 2019

    Hampshire 409-9 dec & 185-4 v Kent 555

Ian Holland follows Rilee Rossouw back to the pavilion and Hampshire are in a spot of bother!

The decision is that he's feathered Ollie Rayner behind to Ollie Robinson, but Holland looks pretty disappointed with it.

The Kent side all went up and Hampshire are 185-4 - a lead of just 39 - and the visitors will be dreaming of a result all of a sudden.

  13. MIDDLESEX BEAT GLAMORGAN BY 256 RUNSpublished at 12:36 British Summer Time 16 July 2019
    Breaking

    Glamorgan 299 v Middlesex (target 556)

Middlesex complete a huge win over Glamorgan at Cardiff with Michael Hogan the final man out, caught by George Scott off the bowling of Nathan Sowter.

Sowter really spoils the party for team-mate Toby Roland-Jones, as the BBC's Middlesex commentator Kevin Hand explains.

  14. wicket

    WICKET Rossouw c Bell-Drummond b Denly 66published at 12:35 British Summer Time 16 July 2019

    Hampshire 409-9 dec & 185-3 v Kent 555

If you want something doing, do it yourself - Kent skipper Joe Denly brings himself into the attack and gets the wicket of Rilee Rossouw.

The South African attempts a pull shot to a short ball but it bounces more than expected and a top edge is taken by Daniel Bell-Drummond.

It's Denly's third wicket of the season and Rossouw goes for 66, with Hampshire 185-3.

  15. 6 runs

Postpublished at 12:30 British Summer Time 16 July 2019

    Warwickshire 127-6 v Essex (target 401)

Warwickshire aren't going to bat out the day so Michael Burgess decides to thump Simon Harmer for six.

We know he's capable of it and the Bears are going to go down fighting here against Essex.

You can't blame them - they need another 274 runs with just four wickets left.

  16. for Keshav Maharajpublished at 12:29 British Summer Time 16 July 2019

    Yorkshire 520, Somerset 196 & 239-9

    Keshav MaharajImage source, Rex Features

    One to go for Yorkshire.

Keshav Maharaj has 10 wickets in the match as Jamie Overton is pinned by the straight one from the South Africa left-arm spinner and is out lbw for 21.

What a performance it's been from Maharaj.

The end is nigh for Somerset.

  17. Durham's Rushworth on firepublished at 12:25 British Summer Time 16 July 2019

    Worcestershire 107-5 v Durham (target 352)

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Newcastle

Durham's Chris Rushworth is in his testimonial year. One of the people who have written about him in his official brochure is the Worcestershire opener Daryl Mitchell.

Mitchell says Jagerbombs, not fully-cooked chicken and Chris Rushworth "with a new pill in his hand at 11am" are the three things that keep him awake at night.

Rushworth has got Mitchell in all four Championship innings against Durham this season. The sequence 0,9,0,1. Mitchell was the first batsman in the Worcestershire second innings to fall last night as he was bowled in Rushworth's second over.

The bowler, who took five wickets in his first six overs at New Road this season, then removed Riki Wessels and Josh Dell for ducks, in a spell of 3-1 in 11 balls.

This morning he was at it again as he saw off Ross Whiteley for 18 and Callum Ferguson for 30 to record the 24th 5-for of his career. It's his second against Worcestershire this season and third in all.

In 16 innings against Durham, in which Rushworth has played against Mitchell, he's got him out eight times. No wonder he has nightmares!

  18. wicket

WICKET Palladino c Rossington b Procter 1published at 12:21 British Summer Time 16 July 2019

    Derbyshire 217-9 v Northants (target 319)

  20. wicket

WICKET Hose c Patel b Harmer 13published at 12:18 British Summer Time 16 July 2019

Harmer with second-innings figures of 4-21 from his 19 overs.
