WICKET Whiteley b Rushworth 18published at 11:15 British Summer Time 16 July 2019

    Worcestershire 43-4 v Durham (target 352)

That's four out of four for Chris Rushworth.

He bowls full to the left-handed Ross Whiteley and gets a little bit of movement, enough to send his off stump flailing. Durham require six more wickets to close this match out at Chester-le-Street.

    Worcestershire need 309 runs.

Warwickshire need at least one lengthy partnership if they're to get a positive result, and Liam Banks has picked up where he left off last night.

It's a first first-class 50 for the 20-year-old, and he's played positively - with seven fours included in his total.

The Bears are still 318 runs short of the victory mark.

  4. wicket

WICKET Groenewald c Fraine b Fisher 8published at 11:07 British Summer Time 16 July 2019

    Yorkshire 520, Somerset 196 & 167-5

Close to the perfect start for Yorkshire as nightwatchman Tim Groenewald throws his wicket away. You could argue Matthew Fisher has trapped him though.

The second over of the day started with two less than deliberate boundaries for Groenewald, edged to third man. After a couple of dots he actually middled one but hit it straight to Will Fraine at point.

Not really the job of a nightwatchman that is it?

  5. Postpublished at 11:04 British Summer Time 16 July 2019

    Warwickshire 71-1 v Essex (target 401)

Simon Harmer bowlsImage source, Rex Features

Essex's Simon Harmer almost has Rob Yates with the first ball of the day at Chelmsford!

He loops the ball up but just out of the grasp of the bowler.

It's a maiden for Harmer, and a nervy start for the Bears.

  6. Play under waypublished at 11:00 British Summer Time 16 July 2019

Right then off we go on - deep breath in - day four in five matches, day three in one match and day two in another.

Unless the weather intervenes, only Gloucestershire and Leicestershire will still be playing when stumps are called this evening.

We're a crumbling Cheltenham pitch away from being all in for a full house. Or from shouting bingo. Or similar.

  7. Stick to cricket!published at 10:58 British Summer Time 16 July 2019

    Hampshire 409-9 dec & 119-2 v Kent 555

After completing a 154 with the bat yesterday, Kent skipper Joe Denly was set for more glory with a different shaped ball in the warm-up - but his coach Matt Walker had other ideas...

Hosts Hampshire will be hoping for similar mishaps in the field as they look to establish a lead.

  9. Mullaney to have knee surgerypublished at 10:52 British Summer Time 16 July 2019

    County Championship

After Nottinghamshire's heavy defeat by Surrey yesterday, they have more bad news...

All-rounder Steven Mullaney will miss the start of the T20 Blast as he is to undergo knee surgery.

The 32-year-old has passed on the Outlaws' captaincy to Dan Christian ahead of the tournament.

"The injury has been there for a while now and the operation needs to happen to make it right," Mullaney said.

  10. Weather set fair for daypublished at 10:48 British Summer Time 16 July 2019

Once again we're unlikely to see any rain interruptions today, giving us the best chance of getting results in the five games going into their final days.
