  1. NZ 231-7published at 48.4 overs

Santner can bash it a bit though!

First boundary of the day as the Kiwi spinner bashes a wide cutter from Kumar away through the covers for four. Shot!

Mitchell Santner and Matt Henry at the crease.

    Not what New Zealand wanted.

Latham had to try and get the total up to 250 to give New Zealand a sniff. He connected quite well but the boundary is that big.

  5. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 48.1 overs

    Latham c Jadeja b Kumar 10 (NZ 225-7)

Ravindra Jadeja really is one of the best fielders in the world.

Tom Latham absolutely leathers it out towards deep mid-wicket but Jadeja is in play.

The India all-rounder leaps high and grabs it above his head before finding his feet in time to stop himself running over the boundary rope.

A superb take and New Zealand are stalling.

Great work. You can see Kohli almost patting himself on the back for getting his best fielders in those positions.

Jadeja is one of if not the best fielder in this India side.

It is never easy throwing the stumps down in from such a distance. Without a direct hit I'm not sure that would have been out.

That's why you have your best fielders in the most important positions!

  8. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 48 overs

Taylor run out (Jadeja) 74 (NZ 225-6)

    Ross Taylor knew.

The Kiwi batsman clips into mid-wicket and tries to scurry a second but Ravindra Jadeja swoops in and fires in a perfect throw.

One stump, 40 yards, no problem.

Taylor is gone by inches but was walking off even before the decision came up on the screen. That wouldn't have been out without the direct hit.

  9. Third umpirepublished at 48 overs

New Zealand try to turn two but Ravindra Jadeja has a heck of a throw on him.

Direct hit from 40 yards with one stump to aim at.

They're looking upstairs but I think Ross Taylor is gone.

New Zealand are trying run hard and put the ball into gaps. It is a big outfield here so hitting sixes is not easy.

  11. NZ 224-5published at 47.5 overs

Jasprit Bumrah is cannily mixing his variations and lengths, just ones and twos for New Zealand.

Tom Latham tries a scoop round the corner but still can't find the boundary as fine leg comes across.

    Andy Zaltzman

Bumrah has been the most economical bowler in the final five overs of an innings in this World Cup. He has an economy of 6.21 followed by Mitchell Starc with 6.37.

It has been an impressive start from Kumar. He has had a half an hour break between warming up and coming out to play and it is difficult to nail your yorkers straight away but he has done it brilliantly.

Keith, *cough * working from home, Fair Oak

  16. NZ 217-5published at 47 overs

Tom Latham misses out on a full ball but clips the next round the corner into a gap and scampers two.

A misfield from Dinesh Karthik made that easier than it should've been and straight away Virat Kohli takes him out of deep backward square leg and puts himself there. Ruthless.

Latham dabs into the off side for a single before Taylor clips the last into a gap at mid-wicket and picks up two more.

It is a tricky situation for New Zealand. They have got to go from ball one. They don't have time to get into rhythm.

  18. NZ 212-5published at 46.2 overs

    Taylor 68, Latham 3

Kumar sends it out wide and Taylor slashes it away but straight to deep cover. Just a single.

If New Zealand can add another 15 then that would be average. If they add 20-30 then that would not be bad - that is possible.

If they get 40 or more then you are into bonus territory.
