He has pinned him on the crease but height rather than line is the issue for me.
NZ close day three on 394-6, leading by 41 runs
Watling hits superb unbeaten 119, Santner 31 not out

Then again it has hit the back leg...

It almost looked like BJ Watling was walking for a moment there.
This looks desperate to me.
Jofra Archer appeals for lbw to BJ Watling. It looked high and the umpire says no but England review.

Colin de Grandhomme has given the innings some impetus while BJ Watling has been the glue at the other end.

Well played, Colin de Grandhomme.
Rubbish from Archer. He bangs a bouncer in so short it is almost too high for the side-on camera. Jos Buttler can't get near it and it's five wides.
De Grandhomme clubs another away into the deep a ball later and that takes him to 51.

Steph: Nothing like sensible batting to show how poor our 353 really was.
Watling 53, De Grandhomme 49
England aren't really doing much to help you stay awake through the night here. No excitement. No buzz. BJ Watling and Colin de Gradhomme are grinding them down.
Steve Smith has failed! Yes, you read that correctly.
A beauty from spinner Yasir Shah has bowled the right-hander for just four but Australia still lead by 119.

The two New Zealand batsmen just don't look like getting out at the moment. Watling is gritty, digging in, while De Grandhomme has been more free-flowing and has seven boundaries in his 48.
A delivery from Archer is met by the solidest of defensive strokes at the end of the over. Nothing happening.

England will want to keep the stumps in play. We haven't seen much nip away or many caught at slip during this Test.
Archer's pace nudges closer to 90mph but De Grandhomme still looks pretty comfortable. He slaps one a ball later along the ground to deep square leg.
Archer was clubbed for 10 runs off his previous over. Will that spark a bit more life into his legs?
De Grandhomme seems to want to take him on and those fielders are still out in the deep.
Watling 51, De Grandhomme 47
Jack Leach bowls too many full tosses for my liking. Watling is gifted an easy flick off his ankle. You can hardly hear a peep out of England on the field. This is flat.

The wicket is very placid. We haven't seen anything really misbehave today other than one Jack Leach delivery that kept low.
The new ball is 10 overs old and Joe Root has turned to Jack Leach...

He's booked himself in for a bit of a peppering here I would have thought.

Joe Root is saying OK you can have an extra man out but I wouldn't mind you bowling a bit fuller and trying to get him out.

Archer waves his arms around after that De Grandhoome six. He's not amused. Another fielder goes out on the hook.
Archer goes for the bluff. Full and outside off. Four runs! A lovely shot from big CDG.
Problems for England.
