Another maiden from Stuart Broad. That's the fourth one of the day.
NZ close day three on 394-6, leading by 41 runs
Watling hits superb unbeaten 119, Santner 31 not out

John Daniels: My dissertation on anthropogenic perturbation of elemental mercury budgets is due in on the 11th of December (zzzzzzzz). However, as a Kent man I’d take a 3rd to watch Joe Denly hit a ton!!!!!! Come on England.
A misfield from Dom Sibley in the covers allows BJ Watling to pick up a couple. Jofra Archer won't like that. It was a really poor piece of fielding to be fair.
A tepid start from Archer with speeds of 82-84 mph.
Jofra starts with a bouncer that BJ Watling ducks under well.
Things might be about to get a little bit more exciting, certainly quicker anyway as Jofra Archer replaces Sam Curran.

April Hall: Is ‘cricket lag’ a recognised physiological condition? Trying to stay awake for the first session, aided by a glass of wine & the warmth of an extra fluffy blanket.
Another maiden from Stuart Broad.
Not saying the cricket isn't great, but we've started talking about Christmas presents on the desk.
Is now the time to admit Little Mix are my guilty pleasure? I went to see them at Manchester Arena last Friday. A cracking night out.

Andrew Milligan: Listening to TMS at Little Mix at the O2.
Good aggressive running from Henry Nicholls sees him pick up two. That's something the Kiwis have done much better than England during their innings.
They then decide to turn down a second to Joe Denly at deep cover. Probably wise, the Kent batsman is one of England's best fielders.
Oh that's a beauty from Sam Curran. He gets a little bit of shape away and draws a false shot from BJ Watling. Encouraging signs for England.

Charlie: Pitch looks an absolute road on day three here. Leach and Archer key to getting those last six wickets.
BJ Watling finally breaks the barren spells of runs with a cut to deep point for a single.
The pitch looks dead at the moment. England have found nothing off it or through the air in the opening six overs of the day. Patience is going to be key today.

Another maiden from Sam Curran. That's three in a row for England now.
They are building pressure but it feels a bit non-threatening at the moment.

Helen Dawson: Lost the duvet war with the cats last two nights. Prepared tonight - hot water bottle, onesie, and hot chocolate here in a cold, damp, Stirling.
A better line from Stuart Broad but it's an excellent leave from BJ Watling. Broad stands there aghast in his follow through, he can't believe that Watling hasn't played at that.
Another maiden. All very tepid this morning.
England will get the new ball just after lunch I reckon.
There's 26 overs till the new ball now and both teams have tended to bowl that many overs each session so far.

At the moment it all looks pretty placid from England. It will be a matter of patience up until the new ball.
They've just shown a replay of Henry Nicholls getting clonked on the head by Jofra Archer last night. It really was a horrible blow. Are England missing a trick by not turning to Joff first up this morning?
Rock solid from Nicholls as he sees out Curran's latest over. A maiden.
Big appeal from the fielders around the bat for an lbw against Henry Nicholls but Sam Curran isn't interested. It was going down leg for my money.
Joe Root has put himself in at a very straight close mid-on, just off the square, for Nicholls.
