  1. NZ 325-6published at 115 overs

Mitchell Santner doesn't look at all comfortable. He's struggling against the short ball and the spinner.

A chest-high bouncer is patted just short of Ollie Pope at short leg to start the over. Could Pope move slightly closer in? Maybe.

Ben Stokes decides to go around the wicket and Santner takes his eye off another bouncer and it cannons into the Kiwi's chest. That's got to hurt.

Santner picks up a single off the final ball of the over. England will be delighted with that. They are keeping BJ Watling away from the strike and getting plenty of balls at Santner.

Apparently the Barmy Army played the Mount Maunganui Old Boys last night and conceded 250 in a 20-over game.

  3. NZ 323-6published at 114 overs

Just a single from Leach's 28th over. England are starting to build pressure.

  4. NZ 322-6published at 113.3 overs

Jack Leach and England have a slip and short leg in for Mitchell Santner, but could they have more in? He doesn't look at all comfortable as he plays and misses at one outside the off-stump.

  5. NZ 321-6published at 113 overs

Ooh a snorter to finish from Ben Stokes. He bangs one in short and it's well-directed towards Mitchell Santner's throat and the Kiwi gets in a bit of tangle and it ends up hitting him in his left armpit.

Jeremy Coney did say earlier he doesn't always look comfortable against the short ball.

  6. NZ 320-6published at 112 overs

It's amazing what one ball spinning can do to a batsman's mindset.

Mitchell Santner comes down the track and has an almighty hoick at one and fortunately for him it dribbles along the floor to mid-wicket.

    Promising signs from Jack Leach.

  7. NZ 320-6published at 111.1 overs

A beauty first up from Jack Leach.

He gets one to spin out the rough and it beats Mitchell Santner on the inside edge and also beats Jos Buttler and it runs away for a couple of byes.

New Zealand's batsmen are vulnerable to the short ball when you get down to Santner.

  10. NZ 318-6published at 111 overs

Mitchell Santner gets off the mark with a drive to mid-off for a single.

That's just the start that England needed to this session. They need to push on now.

It is rare to see a number eight coming out to a field like this.

    It's extraordinary.

England have no slips to Mitchell Santner...

    What is going on?

What a way to take your first catch in international cricket by the way. That was ridiculous from Dom Sibley.

Think Rory Burns to dismiss Peter Siddle at The Oval in the Ashes - it was very, very similar.

That's brought an end to a 119-run partnership and brings Mitchell Santner to the crease.

Phenomenal catch from Dom Sibley. It was behind him almost. A flying catch, low down to his right-hand side.

That sort of thing can kick start a bit of life into the fielding team.

    Brilliant catch!

That was a totally innocuous loose ball from Stokes. A long-hop.

FIRST BALL AFTER TEA! AND WHAT A CATCH!

It's a wide floaty loosener outside off stump from Ben Stokes but Colin de Grandhomme tries to guide it through backward point rather than whacking it and Dom Sibley takes an absolutely spectacular one-handed catch down to his right-hand side at gully. The ball was almost past him as he took it.

    England needed that!

England are going for the short-pitched plan with three men out on the hook.
