We saw a bit of spin in the first semi-final and that might play a part in this game.

It's going to be an exciting game, two of the probably less heralded sides out of the four here today.

It's a great occasion for Derbyshire being at their first-ever T20 Finals Day - although they will not be here just to make up the numbers - while Essex have some big experience names.

  2. Can Essex do the double?published at 14:27 British Summer Time 21 September 2019

    Derbyshire v Essex (14:30 BST)

While today is certainly a massive day for Derbyshire, this is just the start of a big old week for Essex.

Four times T20 Blast semi-finalists, but never finalists, they face the prospect of doing a memorable double if they can go all the way today and then beat Somerset in their upcoming County Championship title decider.

"It's a very exciting week," red-ball captain Ryan ten Doeschate told BBC Radio Essex.

"But it's been a great season so far no matter what happens in the next week."

  3. Debutants Derbyshire 'love' underdogs tagpublished at 14:25 British Summer Time 21 September 2019

    Derbyshire v Essex (14:30 BST)

Derbyshire's appearance at Edgbaston will rid them of the tag of being the only one of the 18 counties not to reach Finals Day - but they are still very much coming in under the radar, a situation relished by assistant coach Steve Kirby.

"We've got no expectations," said Kirby. "We're the underdogs and that's what I love about this side. But people are going to underestimate us at their peril."

Former fast bowler Kirby - assistant to Dave Houghton - will have his side well drilled on the perils and pitfalls of Finals Day following his experience as a beaten finalist with Somerset against Leicestershire in 2011.

"It's an amazing day which goes in a flash," he told BBC Radio Derby. "You sign all the autographs and treasure every moment. But there's a lot to take on board."

  6. Worcestershire into T20 finalpublished at 14:21 British Summer Time 21 September 2019

Worcs beat Notts by one run

And it paved the way for that thrilling final ball finale when Ben Duckett couldn't get the ball away for the single Notts needed and put Worcestershire through to their second successive T20 Blast final.

  7. Notts stumble as Worcestershire reach finalpublished at 14:20 British Summer Time 21 September 2019

But those three wickets in that penultimate over by Pat Brown proved absolutely crucial to give Worcestershire hope and send panic through the Notts camp.

Worcs beat Notts by one run

Back to the cricket and I still don't think I can believe what I've seen in that first semi-final. Nottinghamshire were absolutely cruising while Alex Hales was at the crease.

But his dismissal laid the platform for total carnage in those final two overs.

  9. The Falcon wins itpublished at 14:17 British Summer Time 21 September 2019

Into the final 100 yards and the Dragon is clinging on.

But the Derbyshire Falcon is full of running and senses a chance up the outside.

He's beginning to get up, the Falcon is beginning to get up!

AND THE DERBYSHIRE FALCON TAKES IT AT THE LINE!

It's really strange. There aren't many occasions like this in sport. What do Worcestershire do now, do they go back to the hotel, do they stay in a spare changing room here?

They will be on a huge high right now but they will come down, then they have to ramp themselves up for the final tonight.

They will watch the second match but have to keep themselves level as they have to do it all again in a few hours time, but you'd rather be in this situation than be Notts, who are going home.

  12. Runners down at the startpublished at 14:12 British Summer Time 21 September 2019

They're going down for the Mascot Grand National!

All manner of obstacles to get past on one lap of Edgbaston.

The Gloucestershire Gorilla has good form at this track and heads the market as the 3-1 jolly.

Ooo they've nibbled at him, now 5-2 the Gorilla.

While we continue to bring you reaction from Worcestershire's dramatic win over Notts, we can tell you that Essex have won the toss and will bat first in the second semi-final.

Captain Simon Harmer thinks the pitch will get "worse and worse" as the day goes on so the County Championship leaders are keen to get a score on the board.

  14. Worcs beat Notts by one runpublished at 14:07 British Summer Time 21 September 2019

What a finish. Up until the penultimate over that was a very average T20 with one side dominating.

But that is why you don't risk the game going down to the last over. Notts were in control but couldn't put the game to bed.

The reigning champions Worcestershire are alive to defend their crown.

    Unbelievable!

The rest of these games have a lot to live up to now.

Well done to Wayne Parnell to show that bottle and to Moeen to take his time, set the right field and know what they needed to do.

Poor Ben Duckett. He played so well and just sunk to his knees after he missed it.

    I do not believe that.

The chase was a cake-walk for Notts. Only 11 were needed from 12 balls!

But what an over from Pat Brown to only concede four from the penultimate over - and crucially take two wickets.

The run-out also in the over made it a little tight in the final set but the batting side still wins that nine times out of 10.

Wayne Parnell the hero for Worcestershire.

Ultimately, Ben Duckett the villain for Notts. He was the set man still there and had to get his side over the line.
