Morning games at Edgbaston start a bit tacky and slow and the ball could grip a bit. Under the lights later the ball can skid on and that's when I always like to bat here.

Nottinghamshire and Worcestershire were due to meet twice in the North Group, only for their match-up at New Road to be washed out without a ball being bowled.

But it was the Rapids who came out on top at Trent Bridge in July, winning by 28 runs as Moeen Ali took 4-18 to restrict Notts to 133-9 in reply to Worcestershire's 161-6.

  4. Can Worcestershire retain their title?published at 10:49 British Summer Time 21 September 2019

    Nottinghamshire v Worcestershire (1100 BST)

Worcestershire beat Sussex in last year's final at to win the domestic T20 title for the first time.

And they're back at Edgbaston looking to retain their title after Moeen Ali's stunning century led them to another victory over the Sharks in the quarter-finals.

The Rapids finished fourth in the North Group this season to reach the knock-out stages with a record of six wins and five defeats, while three of their games were washed out.

But having coped admirably with the pressure of finals day last season, who would back against them from using that experience to their advantage?

  5. Hales to lead Notts' challengepublished at 10:47 British Summer Time 21 September 2019

    Nottinghamshire v Worcestershire (1100 BST)

For all their troubles this season in the first-class arena - Nottinghamshire have been relegated from Division One of the County Championship - the Outlaws remain a force in the white-ball game.

And star opener Alex Hales is sure to have a point to prove after losing his England white-ball contract on Friday.

Eariler this summer Hales missed England's World Cup campaign having been suspended in April for an "off-field incident". The Guardian reported he had failed a recreational drugs test.

But he was in magnificent form as Notts reached finals day with a 10-wicket quarter-final win over Middlesex, hitting seven sixes in an unbeaten 83 off 47 balls.

Worcestershire: Rutherford, Wessels, Ali (c), Whiteley, Cox (wk), Barnard, Parnell, D'Oliveira, Mitchell, Morris, Brown.
