Joe Gibney: Cricket's just about perfect year is done, with the World Cup super over free-to-view, tied Ashes, & a last ball thriller on T20 Finals Day. Let's hope that the Hundred tournament doesn't over egg the pudding, because you can have too much of a good thing.

Richard Vaughan: What an incredible day. Essex were 1000/1 with about four group games left, and now they’re champions. I love this team. I love Simon Harmer.

Tom Malow: What a summer it has been for English cricket! World Cup win with a super over, ashes series drawn with Ben stokes heroics in both! And now a cracking T20 finals day! Love this game!

Arthur Sharpe: Why on earth do we need the 100 after that!!!

    David Bradley
BBC Hereford and Worcester cricket commentator

When you've lost by such a fine margin, you've got to stand there and watch the opposition celebrate, this is the worst part of a final.

Pat Brown is still on the floor, you've got to feel sorry for him, this is his format.

Fair play to the ECB, they get this Finals Day exactly right.

Essex win the 2019 T20 Blast

    Ebony Rainford-Brent

You could have not asked for a better final.

T20 Blast, possibly the last in this format, and it's gone down to the wire.

Well done to Simon Harmer, he adapted, the conditions were right for him and he capitalised, getting the ball turning, winning the toss maybe the right decision in that scenario.
