Big slice of luck for Sussex that dropped catch, it can really help the momentum of the game.
Sussex 33-0
Almost a wicket first ball for Pat Brown as he finds Luke Wright's outside edge.
It looks for a moment like a simple catch for wicketkeeper Ben Cox, but it just falls short of his gloves.
Should've got a wicket four balls later as Salt miscues a pull over the head of Charlie Morris at mid-on, but he can't hold on over his shoulder.
Insult to injury off the last ball of Brown's over as Salt cuts him to the point fence for four more.
Parnell's absence for Worcestershire has probably handed Pennington a game tonight, but here's another talented Rapids seamer on to bowl in the shape of Pat Brown....
Worcestershire are again without South African left-arm paceman Wayne Parnell tonight. The 30-year-old, who took 4-25 against Leicestershire last month, has 11 wickets from 10 innings in the Blast this year and also hit seven sixes in an unbeaten 81 to guide the Rapids home against Derbyshire, but is still sidelined by illness.
Expensive start for Dillon Pennington as Phil Salt drives his first ball straight back past him for four and then two balls later finds the boundary again to deep square.
Better finish to his over as he sends down a couple of dots and a decent bumper too which Salt has to duck under.
Dillon Pennington on to bowl now for Worcestershire as they opt for pace from both ends...
Salt 10, Wright 6
Charlie Morris shares the new ball for Worcestershire from the Cromwell Road End.
Bit of a false start as he doesn't release his first attempt, losing his stride at the crease.
Luke Wright gets the first boundary with a sweetly-timed shot through the covers for four. Gave himself some room by backing away to leg and shuffling down the pitch.
At the other end - good evening Phil Salt!
First six of the night as he pulls him away over the square leg rope. Great stuff.
Sussex lost only three matches in topping the South Group, but having gone unbeaten in their first five matches at Hove, they were beaten in the last two, by Essex and Gloucestershire.
The highest total made at Hove this summer is the 188-6 Sussex posted in their opening home match of the campaign against Hampshire in July, with Middlesex's 127 the lowest score.
A very straw-coloured looking pitch for this game as Moeen starts off proceedings with his twirlers.
Just the three singles from it as the Sharks make a watchful start...
Worcestershire skipper Moeen Ali to open up the bowling then for the visitors from the Sea End....
A full house at Hove for this one where the two umpires are making their way out into the middle to the strains of "Sussex By The Sea" on the PA.
Will the home fans be giving that a rendition come stumps?
Phil Salt and Luke Wright are striding out there to open up this innings for Sussex....
Another man missing for the Rapids is New Zealander Hamish Rutherford, summoned for international duty in Sri Lanka. Rutherford, who has batted only twice in the Blast this year for a modest 33 runs, went all the way to Kandy only to be out first ball, one of Lasith Malinga's four wickets in four balls.
He will continue to rack up the air miles, however, he is due back for the start of Worcester's Championship match with Glamorgan on Tuesday.

Worcestershire have no overseas player.
Callum Ferguson returned to Australia for personal reasons to be replaced by Hamish Rutherford.
They also had beaten World Cup Super Over finalist Martin Guptill (pictured below), until he was selected for New Zealand T20 duty in Sri Lanka.
But, when he got injured, Rutherford was called up today’s final international in Pallakele.
On top of that, their other ‘foreigner’, Kolpak signing Wayne Parnell is unavailable though illness.
More from Worcestershire coach Alex Gidman, the former Gloucestershire player, who says his team are confident of repeating last year's final victory over Sussex.
“We have got just as many match-winners as them. Every team is beatable. It is such a weird game," Gidman, 38, says.
“It just needs one or two guys, whether it be with bat or ball, to have great matches."
No team has ever retained the T20 Blast title, but Worcester coach Alex Gidman describes the task facing his team as "a great motivation".
"It’s an exciting motivation. An opportunity to create a little bit of history," he told BBC Radio Hereford & Worcester.
"Being champions has been tough. There has been a level of expectation on the guys to perform literally week-in and week-out, or game-in and game-out.
"They are only human beings and no-one is going to go through the campaign without having a bad couple of matches."
Sussex Sharks are the only side in this year’s quarter-finals to have three players with more than 300 runs in the groups stage.
Luke Wright (360), Phil Salt (334) and Laurie Evans (315) have all been in fine form this season and the hosts will be hoping at least one of them plays a pivotal innings tonight.
That's what we've had, now back to the build-up for tonight's game...
And last night at Trent Bridge in the second quarter-final, we were treated to a display of all-round power-hitting from Alex Hales and Chris Nash as Notts Outlaws thrashed Middlesex by 10 wickets.
These quarter-finals began on Wednesday night with a bit of a shock as Essex Eagles beat Lancashire Lightning by six wickets.
The game looked to be heading Lancashire's way on a tough night for run-scoring until Ravi Bopara and Ryan ten Doeschate stole the show with some big hits late on.
