    WICKET Donald c C Overton b Davey 9published at 11:51 British Summer Time 16 September 2019

    Hants 57-6 v Somerset

Movement in the air and off the pitch for the Somerset attack - who have charged out of the blocks with five quick wickets.

Meanwhile bad light is keeping their title rivals Essex off the field at Chelmsford.

Out! Make that six! Aneurin Donald is squared up by Josh Davey and the batsman edges to fourth slip.

Lewis McManus joins Liam Dawson on the burning deck.

  3. wicket

WICKET Nash b Brookes 0published at 11:49 British Summer Time 16 September 2019

    Notts 75-2 v Warwickshire

That's a loose shot from Chris Nash.

The Notts number three plays all around an inswinger from Warwickshire paceman Henry Brookes and the off stump goes cartwheeling.

Captain Steven Mullaney is still there on 61.

  4. Dawson and Donald rebuild for Hampshirepublished at 11:45 British Summer Time 16 September 2019

    Hants 57-5 v Somerset

Liam Dawson picks up a precious four runs with a neat leg side clip off Craig Overton.

That takes the partnership to 33. Riches indeed after slumping to 24-5.

  5. Stevens and Billings battling at Headingleypublished at 11:43 British Summer Time 16 September 2019

    Yorks v Kent 63-5

Darren Stevens and Sam Billings have put on 21 together so far.

Steve Patterson is into his second over.

Stevens is beaten as the ball nips away.

Ooh! A flashing drive flies just over cover and that's three more runs.

  6. Somerset take five early at Ageas Bowlpublished at 11:38 British Summer Time 16 September 2019

    Hants 46-5 v Somerset

Craig Overton bowls... Shot! A straight drive by Aneurin Donald for four.

The record Hampshire 6th wicket partnership, back in 1899 was worth over 400.

A bit optimistic to be looking at that now! But hey...

A single each for Dawson and Donald and then Donald picks up four more with a crisp drive through the off side.

Four more runs through cover for Donald and Hampshire have gone past their lowest ever First Class score.

for Mullaneypublished at 11:38 British Summer Time 16 September 2019

    Notts 66-1 v Warwickshire

I reckon there is a bit of frustration and determination to prove a point in this innings from Notts skipper Steven Mullaney.

He's smacking the Warwickshire bowlers to all parts and brings up his half-century off just 48 balls with an 11th four.

  8. Kent pass 50 but five down at Headingleypublished at 11:32 British Summer Time 16 September 2019

    Yorks v Kent 50-5

Hardly a cause for celebration but every run is like gold dust here today.

Duanne Olivier bowls a very full length wide of off stump and Sam Billings drives through point for a rare four.

    That's the Kent 50.

England Test Selection: It looks as though Hampshire have been watching England. They're 24-5 and in all sorts of bother against the Championship leaders.

    All sorts of bother indeed.

WICKET Compton b Rhodes 14published at 11:30 British Summer Time 16 September 2019

    Notts 54-1 v Warwickshire

Notts debutant Ben Compton leaves a straight one from Will Rhodes. The timbers go flying. Out.

How often have we seen that happen this summer?

Very difficult seaming and swinging conditions at the Ageas Bowl - where nearly every ball is met with "oohs" and "ahs" by the Somerset fielders.

Liam Dawson picks up three off a rare over-pitched ball from Craig Overton.

Out! Ian Holland is forced to play a Craig Overton in-ducker and gets a thin edge to second slip.

Good catch, taken at ankle height. Aneurin Donald to bat next.

The lowest Hampshire first-class score is 44, by the way. Just saying.

Godzilla King: Absolutely ridiculous to have County games scheduled so late in the year. We got lucky with the Ashes test with the weather but it hasn't held for counties. How are players supposed to stake claims or learn how to play the longer format in these conditions?

Thankfully the forecast is looking much better for the rest of the week.

  13. Division Two updatepublished at 11:24 British Summer Time 16 September 2019

Here's the latest so far in our second division games...

Three of the five games are now under way, with Worcestershire against Gloucestershire also set to start at 11:30 BST.

Leaders Lancashire need just five points against Middlesex to seal the title - they're 39-0 with Keaton Jennings and Alex Davies in the middle.

Glamorgan need to win to keep their promotion hopes alive - they're batting first against bottom side Leicestershire and are 28-0.

Second-placed Northants against fourth-placed Durham is a key game - Northants are off to a fine start they're 31-0.

The umpires are just about to have a look at Derbyshire, where the start has been delayed against Sussex.

  16. wicket

WICKET Kuhn lbw b Olivier 8published at 11:19 British Summer Time 16 September 2019

    Yorks v Kent 39-5

    Goodness me.

This game could be over in two days barring a miraculous innings or a flattening out of the Headingley pitch.

Duanne Olivier beats Heino Kuhn with one that nips into the stumps and keeps low.

The umpire raises his finger... Can Darren Stevens repeat last week's heroics?

He scored a first innings 88 and took 10 wickets against Notts.

  17. Hampshire struggle at home to Somersetpublished at 11:18 British Summer Time 16 September 2019

    Hants 21-4 v Somerset

Craig Overton is into the attack. He gets a bit of swing straight away bowling to Liam Dawson.

A leg bye ends the over.

What a morning! Very tough one for the batsmen.

    Notts 25-0 v Warwickshire

Notts, whose batting has failed all summer, are actually off to a decent start at Trent Bridge.

Captain Steven Mullaney has biffed his way up to 24, while debutant Ben Compton has a single.

    25-0.

  19. wicket

    WICKET Bell-Drummond b Fisher 10published at 11:12 British Summer Time 16 September 2019

    Yorks v Kent 22-4

    Kent are four down!

Matt Fisher bowls an absolute jaffa which pins Daniel Bell-Drummond to the crease, beats the bat and rips out the opener's off stump.

Can Heino Kuhn repair the damage?
