Matt Crawford: I've really enjoyed following Japan under 19s and now I find myself up at 7am at the weekend to watch the Thai women's team. Surely ICC need to realise its not all about the top six nations, these emerging countries' passion is what grows the game.

  2. Not outpublished at 7 overs

    WI 27-3

It's doing too much, missing the leg stump. Disappointment for Thailand. What relief for the Windies. How big might that moment be?

I think this is out. Nicky and I both had our fingers raised. The only thing that could save her is if the ball is doing too much.

  4. West Indies reviewpublished at 6.6 overs

    WI 27-4

    You're kidding. Shemaine Campbelle lbw.

Surely the review won't save her?

An excellent throw, against Dottin who is one of the fastest runners in T20 cricket. She swept in, picked it up, released it immediately and the wicketkeeper did the rest.

  6. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 6.3 overs

Dottin run out 2 (WI 27-3)

Unbelievable. Deandra Dottin is gone, sold down the river by a shocking call from a very nervous Stafanie Taylor. This game is on.

    WI 27-2

Taylor calls Dottin through. Throw comes in from point. Bails off. Very, very close....

  8. WI 27-2published at 6.3 overs

Chanida Sutthiruang wobbles down some big in-duckers. pinning Stafanie Taylor on the pads. It's all a bit tentative from the Windies, as if they aren't quite sure what to make of the Thai bowling. Run out chance...

Lateh is bowling a mixture of left-arm medium pace and leg-cutters, it's not traditional left-arm spin, even if it looks like it.

  10. WI 25-2published at 6 overs

Deandra Dottin arrives, so West Indies two most explosive players are at the crease. If Thailand remove these two quickly, you never know....

One of the reasons they're celebrating so hard is that it's Lateh's first T20 international wicket - and what an occasion to claim it, getting one of the best batters in the world and the hero of the 2016 tournament.

  12. wicket

    Matthews b Lateh 16 (WI 24-2)

Bowled her! Thailand have another. Hayley Matthews plays all across Soraya Lateh, with the ball ending up hitting middle stump via inside edge and thigh. Two in two overs for Thailand...

When I spoke to the Thailand coach in Pune, he told me they wanted to be the best fielding side in the tournament. Not the best in the bottom three - the best in the tournament. He focuses on open play rather than closed net sessions.

  14. WI 24-1published at 5 overs

    Target 79

Stafanie Taylor is the new batter, by the way. The skipper won't want to hang around in knocking these off.

The Thai girls are not particularly tall - anything over their heads will probably go for four.

    WI 19-1

Almost another! A big drive from Hayley Matthews, very nearly held by the diving cover fielder. It would have been a worldie.

That was an absolutely terrific throw from Naruemol Chaiwai. A clean pick up, a super fast arm and the bowler was aware enough to get herself out of the way as the ball came firing back in. That might be the only bit of Leann Kirby's innings that makes the highlights reel...

That was amazing! There was lack of awareness of Kirby to get off strike and unwillingness to run - Matthews was going, whatever happened. Thailand celebrated like they'd won the World Cup - let's see if they can sneak a couple of wickets out.

  19. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 4.1 overs

Kirby run out 3 (WI 19-1)

    Direct hit!

What a bit of fielding by Naruemol Chaiwai! Hayley Matthews wants a single, but Lee-Ann Kirby is slow to set off. When she does, she's treading water, and Chaiwai's throw from short third man cannons into the non-striker's stumps. Thailand's first wicket in a major global competition. Great celebrations, too.
