We were taking the mick out of Alex Hartley's stat a little earlier that 33% of full tosses in women's cricket cause a wicket. Unfortunately, Danni Wyatt has just proved her point...

She can't believe it. That was a brilliant catch because it's flown to backward point.
Wyatt c Lee b Khaka 2 (Eng 26-2)
Seamer Ayabonga Khaka strikes with her first ball - Danni Wyatt chips it to the delighted Lizelle Lee at backward point.
Here's how England got up and running with those back-to-back fours from Jones in the first over:
England's batting order has been pretty fluid in some of the warm-up games, but it's Natalie Sciver coming in at three today. Wyatt jabs a single off the last ball of the over - Jones' dominance of the strike means she's only faced four deliveries in the first four overs.

The best scoreboard in cricket? I think so...

It wasn't quite there and she was early on the pull shot. It probably wasn't quite as short as Jones was thinking.
Jones c Tryon b Kapp 23 (Eng 25-0)
Amy Jones goes for the loft over the bowler's head again - but can't get as much on it this time, and lofts a straightforward catch to Chloe Tryon at cover.
Kapp still has a slip in - Jones and Wyatt are busily running singles, Wyatt just dropping the ball at her feet and scampering through. Mlaba runs round well from fine leg to cut off a boundary, but Jones helps herself to another two, and South Africa respond by taking slip out.

I wouldn't have known who he [Brian May] is. Doesn't he just look like an old man?

Queen are playing at the Optus Stadium and staying at the same hotel as the England team. When they were in the gym this morning, Queen was playing on the stereo, and in walked Brian May.
This is a good start from Amy Jones, working Ismail through mid-wicket for two. A single off the last ball means Jones has 20 from 17 balls, Wyatt has one from one. And "Dancing Queen" belts out over the speakers between overs. Now, on the subject of Queens...

Shabnim Ismail is the fastest bowler in the women's game. I was worried I'd have to face her in the semi-finals of the 2017 World Cup. Especially when Heather Knight told me to take my thigh pad off.
The pacy Shabnim Ismail takes over at the Lillee-Marsh End, with Danni Wyatt, who always relishes taking on the quicks, facing the bowling for the first time. She's immediately off the mark with a single, while Ismail strays with her line and Jones cuts for four.

Amy looked a bit tentative against Marizanne Kapp at the start, but she got used to it.
More runs for Amy Jones, walking down the track to Kapp (a brave act in itself) and threading the ball between mid-on and mid-wicket for four. She has all of England's 13 runs.

England's World Cup gets up and running with back-to-back boundaries. Not bad...
The second over goes to the experienced seamer Marizanne Kapp - the two boundary riders are down at fine leg and third man, and there's a slip in. And Jones is nearly undone by a lack of footwork as she fences at thin air while Kapp's first ball whistles through - while she's hit on the pad by the second.
South Africa keep the same field - Jones drills the last ball for one to keep the bowling.
