Ind 87-3published at 12 overs
Panna Ghosh has been very tidy with her medium pace. Tall, short hair, full length. It was Ghosh who ended Shafal Verma's fun, and she concedes only four singles from her final over. 2-25 are very handy figures indeed.

Rumana Ahmed, fresh off that catch, continues to toss up her leg-breaks. Deepti Sharma, the compact left-hander, is the India number five. She's already driving sweetly through the off side.

That was poor cricket all round, apart from the catch. Harmanpreet Kaur didn't really get on with it and just hung her bat out. If she'd really gone for it, she would have probably got four.
Harmanpreet c R Ahmed b Ghosh 8 (Ind 78-3)
Gone! Where has this come from? Harmanpreet has drowned in honey, cutting a ball she can barely reach straight to backward point. Rumana Ahmed bucks the trend of poor fielding, holding on to the catch in front of her face.
Another misfield, again at long-on, this time unable to collect the bouncing ball, tipping it over the bar for four. This task was already going to be tough for Bangladesh, but they are making it even harder for themselves.
Rumana Ahmed, spectacles and a cap, twirls down some leg-breaks. Her fellow leggie Poonam Yadav waits on the India bench, looking like the master of her craft that she is. Umpire Alex Wharf has a word with the players about something to do with no-balls, then stops and has an additional chat with the bowler. Just three from the over.
Bangladesh are getting ragged. Now it's an overthrow giving away an extra run. Whereas Verma was a piano mover, smashing the ball to all parts, this is piano playing from Rodrigues and Harmanpreet. Classical batting, finding the gaps - even between the legs of the fielders.

Serves her right for doing a long barrier. They should be banned. Very negative. I'd much rather a fielder attack the ball and miss it.
This isn't going to help. A simple piece of fielding on the long-on boundary, but there's a gap in the long barrier. Through the legs for four.
With the powerplay over, the field goes back, but Harmanpreet is still able to late cut left-arm spinner Nahida Akter to third man for four. This could get messy for Bangladesh.
India captain Harmanpreet Kaur is the new arrival. It's been said a lot before, but she really does look a lot like England's Kate Cross.

You don't mind that in a World Cup. She got out there and had a high-five from her partner and the captain. India are happy with that start.
Verma c Sultana b Ghosh 39 (Ind 53-2)
Shafali Verma goes! Nigar Sultana gets under a skier and finally takes the catch at the the third attempt. Verma was looking to hit straight again, but it went straight up in the air. As it came down, Sultana juggled it twice, then held on to big celebrations. What a knock by Verma, though.

She's cracked a smile and is happy with that one. That is enormous.
Six more to Verma! How does someone so small hit it so far? She has so much power. 39 from 15 balls.

If it was me coming on here, as a spinner, I would bowl full and at leg stump and have cow corner and long-on, and not give her freedom to swing her arms.
Actually, never mind about Verma. Rodrigues' pulls out the sweetest strike over long-off for her first maximum.
Left-arm spin from Nahida Akter. Over the wicket, keeping Rodrigues quiet. Get Verma on strike...
No boundary for Verma in this over, but she's on to 32 from 13. She's providing wonderful entertainment against the spectacular backdrop of the Perth skyline.
The fastest half-century in women's T20 internationals is from 18 balls. Not out of the question here.
