  1. Ind 35-1published at 3.2 overs

I'll be honest, with no disrespect to Rodrigues, I just want Shafali Verma to be on strike.

  2. Ind 34-1published at 3 overs

This is incredible! Verma follows up with two more straight boundaries. 17 runs from the over. Verma has 29 from 11 balls. She's only 16!

Verma's just fantastic to watch. She's got so much confidence for a young woman.

  4. Ind 24-1published at 2.2 overs

She's at it again! This time a free swing of the arms for her third six, this time over long-off.

  5. Ind 17-1published at 2 overs

Jemimah Rodrigues is the new bat, off the mark right away. A 19-year-old joins a 16-year-old.

It was a rubbish shot. It was actually a wide ball. It was terrible. You're playing in a World Cup, love.

    Bhatia st Sultana b S Khatun 2 (Ind 16-1)

This pretty poor from Tanyia Bhatia. An aimless meander, almost no effort to hit the ball, stumped by miles.

  8. 6 runs

    Ind 15-0published at 1.2 overs

Shafali Verma might be the most exciting young player, man or woman, I've ever seen. Salma Khatun's off-breaks, round the wicket. Verma just sweeps over long-on for another maximum.

  9. Ind 8-0published at 1 overs

Oh yes! Shafali Verma is up and running, carving the first maximum of the game over extra cover.

  10. Ind 2-0published at 0.4 overs

Jahanara Alam has the new ball, swinging it away from this pair of right-handers. Night is closing in quickly, the iconic Waca floodlights beaming down. Jahanara comes round the wicket to Verma...

In the absence of Smriti Mandhana, wicketkeeper Taniya Bhatia promoted to open. At the other end is 16-year-old Shafali Verma. Expect fireworks from her.

I am looking forward to seeing what Bangladesh have been up to in the last three or four years. As we saw in the last game, Sri Lanka have dramatically improved.

What a huddle by the Bangladeshis. Big, circular cuddle, then moving around in a circle with a big shout. I think they are going to be a lot of fun.

India's, as we know, is a belter. Very jangly.

I must have heard the Bangladesh anthem before, but I don't remember enjoying it this much.

The players have emerged from the tunnel, to some very good noise. Lots of fans inside the Waca, colour and dancing. Anthems time.

There are loads of Bangladesh fans making their way to the Waca. “I can see lots of India fans,” one little lad tells his dad as he pops on a Tigers headband.

If you weren't with us earlier, Australia survived a scare on this same Perth ground to edge past Sri Lanka. You can read all about that one right here.

We go again. India are looking to back up their impressive opening victory over Australia against Bangladesh, who have won the last two T20s between these two sides.

Bangladesh have won the toss and will field, which India skipper Harmanpreet Kaur says suits her. A blow for India, though, classy opener Smriti Mandhana misses out through illness.

That, though, is for another day. For now, we'll turn out attention to India v Bangladesh, which gets under way in about an hour. We'll be back just before the start to bring you all the action from Perth.
