Spare a thought for Sarah Glenn who produced a fantastic 2-16 and was made to look positively profligate by Sophie Ecclestone's 3-7. Tough school trying to be best bowler in this team.

England spinners Sophie Ecclestone (3-7) and Sarah Glenn (2-16) were excellent once again, while Mady Villiers (1-30) also impressed in her first appearance of the tournament.

England were then ruthless with the ball against an inept West Indies.

After crawling through the powerplay, they were dealt a major blow when captain Stafanie Taylor was forced off injured.

The Nat Sciver show rolls on.

The England batter continued her superb form with a very canny innings on a tricky pitch, ending with 57 off 56 balls.

England captain Heather Knight: "It was attritional cricket on that pitch. We talked about running really well and having lots of options and we did that really well.

"We knew it was going to be a slow wicket so we knew we would have to be clever with the bat and ball. We kept it simple.

"Amy has had a few low scores and we wanted to change something at the top of the order. Amy showed amazing character to come out like that down the order and play so well.

"We wanted another spin option and Mady Villiers has been champing at the bit, she did brilliant today.

"We'll have to sit down and have a look at what our best line-up is for the semi-final."

England really seem to have found their feet. What a dream if they lose that first game and go on to win.

West Indies bowler Anisa Mohammed: "We have to take a few scans before we can tell what has happened to Stafanie Taylor.

"Losing Staf is always a big loss, that was a crucial part of the innings.

"Having good energy and being good in the field were things we though we needed to do right after the last match and those were great tonight.

"England just got away from us in the last five overs and with the bat we need to work on rotating the strike.

"We are really disappointed, we really wanted to go through to the semi-finals but it wasn't to be this year."

England's win of course eliminates West Indies.

But they still have a role to play in deciding who tops the group - beat South Africa in their final game and England will be top.

A win for South Africa will see them go through as group winners and face the winner of Australia v New Zealand.

Whoever finishes second in Group B will face India.

From what I have seen from two games today, Australia will be hoping to play South Africa in the semi-finals, not England. England are red-hot.

England batter Nat Sciver on Test Match Special: "I've been playing to my strengths, I've had a run of games and it's kept going from being here in Australia over the winter.

"Losing the first game wasn't ideal but we didn't win the first game in the 2017 World Cup. We're in the semi-final and on to better things.

"Whoever we play in the semi-final it's going to be a big game and hopefully we can perform when the pressure is on.

"As a bowling unit we've been outstanding, they've done so well to create pressure through dot balls. It's been brilliant to see Sophie Ecclestone and Sarah Glenn doing so well. And Mady Villiers coming in today has been brilliant as well.

"Heather Knight coming off was just precaution - she's always got a dodgy hamstring. She's alright.

"We've been welcomed everywhere we go. It's been a brilliant tournament. The pressure was on at the start but it's been great and I'm really looking forward to the semi-finals."

England's openers still failed to come off and there were a couple of poor drops.

BUT - their spinners are bowling superbly, Anya Shrubsole and Katherine Brunt are all class and Nat Sciver and Heather Knight are in terrific form with the bat.

Amy Jones also did well today down the order.

They will be a real handful in the semi-finals.

England are in to the semi-finals!

Sophie Ecclestone pushes it up and Anisa Mohammed misses with a loose swipe before seeing her stumps rearranged.

Stafanie Taylor is unable to resume her innings so that's West Indies all out for 97.

A very tame chase, but credit to England for a superb bowling performance.

Anisa Mohammed clatters it over the covers for four for good measure.

Windies skipper Stafanie Taylor retired hurt earlier so England are one wicket away from victory.

Alleyene run out (Glenn) 10 (WI 92-8)

This is comfortably among the most hapless run chases I've ever seen.

Aaliyah Alleyene sweeps round the corner, straight to Sarah Glenn, but Anisa Mohammed sets off for a crazy run.

Alleyne finally sets off as well but Glenn has an age to throw it to Mady Villiers for a second run out in as many balls.
