  1. Ind 32-4published at 6 overs

    Target 185

Veda Krishnamurthy in at seven for India. When she played for Hobart Hurricanes in the Women's Big Bash, she was nicknamed "Darthy" by her team-mates (Darth Veda, get it?) - but she'll need to call upon all her namesake's powers to rescue India from here.

With 153 needed from 84 balls, the Force is definitely with Australia.

That is a real error in judgement from Kaur. The length wasn't right to play that shot.

  3. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 5.4 overs

    Kaur c Gardner b Jonassen 4 (Ind 30-4)

And next ball, she's gone! The India captain tries to lift Jonassen over mid-wicket and is brilliantly caught by Ash Gardner running round in front of the rope.

Not a happy birthday for Harmanpreet Kaur, who finishes the tournament with 30 runs from five innings. Not up to her usual standards.

  4. Ind 30-3published at 5.3 overs

    Target 185

Jess Jonassen back at the members' end, Harmanpreet Kaur is off the mark from her sixth ball faces as she lifts a four over the covers.

Although they're three wickets down, India may be effectively four down if Taniya Bhatia can't return.

One thing you notice is Harmanpreet is rooted to the crease at the non-striker's end when the shot has been played. There's no intent to steal a single. Australia's batters were often halfway down the wicket.

  7. Ind 26-3published at 5 overs

    Target 185

Medium-pacer Delissa Kimmince into the attack, and again India have trouble getting her away. Deepti Sharma steers a well-run two to deep mid-wicket, but the dot balls are draining away India's hopes like a vampire draining its victim's lifeblood.

The required rate is already north of 10 runs per over - umpire Kim Cotton penalises Kimmince with a wide, but it's an excellent over containing five dot balls. India need 159 from 90.

India haven't allowed themselves to find the pace of the wicket - they have almost taken it for granted they could do what Alyssa Healy did for Australia.

  10. Ind 23-3published at 4 overs

    Target 185

But just as Australia were seemingly able to take singles at will, tipping-and-running with aplomb, India aren't showing the same urgency - while the ring of Aussie infielders pounces on anything in their vicinity.

Left-hander Sharma steers a single to the mid-wicket sweeper, and Harmanpreet Kaur... plays out her third dot ball.

She's going to have to hit the accelerator at some stage - her side need 162 from 96 deliveries.

  11. Ind 22-3published at 3.2 overs

    Target 185

Deepti Sharma, India's number six, finds herself batting at the start of the fourth over. That target of 185 looks a long, long way away.

Sharma clips her first ball off her pads for four.

That is the result of pressure and Harmanpreet Kaur facing dot balls at the other end.

Smriti Mandhana - what have you done?! That's catching practice.

  14. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 3.1 overs

    Mandhana c Carey b Molineux 11 (Ind 18-3)

Another one goes - left-arm spinner Sophie Molineux's first ball is gently lofted into the arms of mid-off by Smriti Mandhana.

Here's how it ended for Shafali Verma:

  16. Ind 18-2published at 3 overs

    Target 185

A single brings Harmanpreet Kaur on strike for the first time. She can only defend her first two deliveries.

India need 167 from 102 balls.

  17. Ind 17-2published at 2.3 overs

    Target 185

And that's another lovely shot, Mandhana has the India fans dancing in the stands as she guides the ball backward of point for four.

  18. Ind 13-2published at 2.1 overs

    Target 185

Schutt starts her second over with a wide - Smriti Mandhana helps herself to the first four of the innings with a glorious shot through the covers, the diving Ash Gardner collides with the rope trying in vain to stop it.

This is the game now; these two are both capable of doing what Alyssa Healy and Beth Mooney did.

Captain Harmanpreet Kaur - on her 31st birthday - in to perform a rescue act for her side.

She's not really fired in this tournament - what a story it would be if she found form today.
