Melbourne Stars won the bat flip and made the call to bowl first, which is what most sides do when there has been rain around.

Sydney Sixers reached 116-5 thanks to Josh Philippe's fine fifty but that felt just about par.

Yet the Sixers showed the way to bowl on this pitch and made crucial early inroads into the Stars line-up.
