It looks like we may get some rain overnight here in Manchester but the forecast is clear for tomorrow.

Monday is the concern but England can make great strides towards securing the Wisden Trophy if they bowl like they did today again on Sunday.

Jos Buttler knows his career is not what he would have expected. All I'll say is make sure you keep that technique going forward - it's been so much stronger this week. If you can play a forward defence in Test match cricket you can play an innings, if you've got any doubt you're not going to be able to survive. With getting that score and having that strong partnership with Ollie Pope he's pretty much guaranteed that he's going to play the full three Tests against Pakistan, I can't think that they are going to change.

The West Indies should have kept it simple and gone for the three sticks or gone wide outside off stump and make him fetch it. It's very difficult to stop that momentum when a player like that gets to 20 really quickly. It's situations like that where you need experienced players to go up to the skipper and say 'look, skip, I think we're getting this wrong'. West Indies didn't get the basics right and if they'd bowled England out for 280-290 you go out there in a different mindset.

More from Broad on Sky Sports: "Peter Moores came to me at the start of June and told me to look at how Shane Warne played in the 2005 Ashes. Warne scored some crucial runs by trying to open up the off side and I wanted to try to do the same.

"It felt pretty comfortable today having a clear game plan of what to do - it wasn't a situation to hang around for two hours and see where we got to.

    "I shouldn't have slowed down at the end - I didn't know I was joint third-fastest!

"Battiing is such a frustrating, weird thing - if you'd have told me this morning I'd get 10 then I'd have taken it but now I got 62 I'm annoyed I hit a full toss straight down mid-wicket's throat.

"Potentially that delivery from Varun Aaron [that hit Broad in the nose] did affect my batting. I've played a lot of different roles, I started at eight in a counter-attacking role and I think I play best when trying to strike the ball. I've tried to keep my head much stiller. I'm not going to be able to leave loads of balls, I want to be able to score and situations like today suit me."

Stuart Broad has been great. There’s something in his mechanism that when he gets a bit of stick and criticism, it's happened before you only have to go back a year or two I think i prodded him and he came back and proved me wrong. He missed the first Test and does an interview and puts himself under pressure. It takes a mental kind of toughness in your own game and confidence to then deliver and it's the second week now where he's delivered. Alright, he's playing a West Indies side he would expect to deliver against but it also takes a huge amount of mental strength to do it under the pressure he put himself under.

Stuart Broad has just said England will give serious consideration to enforcing the follow-on if they can take the last four West Indies wickets for under 32 runs tomorrow.

  9. Postpublished at 18:19 British Summer Time 25 July 2020

England's Stuart Broad on Sky Sports: "West Indies bowled beautifully this morning. We were hoping to get 400 but we're happy with passing 350.

"Batting was good fun. My decision was to try to take the bowlers off the top of off stump because it was nipping off length.

"We're happy with that first innings score and the way the whole unit bowled this afternoon was fantastic. We controlled the run rate beautifully and the wickets came our way.

"It's strange in this bio-secure envorinment as we've not had much match practice with the bat for us bowlers. I played in this style in one of my last Tests in South Africa and I really enjoyed it so I just tried to think how that went."

Stuart Broad then gave his greatest celebrappeal ever after trapping Roston Chase lbw.

James Anderson picked up two wickets in a superb spell either side of tea, becoming England's leading wicket-taker in Tests against West Indies, with 87.

It would've been even better for England if Ben Stokes hadn't dropped John Campbell.

Campbell then looked to cash in before he was finally undone by a short, hostile delivery from Jofra Archer.

So England were all out for 369 at lunch and made a fine start with the ball afterwards.

Stuart Broad removed Kraigg Brathwaite in the first over...

  14. 'We're in a difficult position'published at 18:13 British Summer Time 25 July 2020

West Indies bowler Kemar Roach, who reached 200 Test wickets today, talking to TMS: "I guess I had that landmark on my mind a little bit too much, I had a few restless nights. It's good to get past that barrier now and see how many more I can get. 300 would be great.

"I'll try to get there, it's going to take a lot but I feel like I have it in me. I'll work hard to get there and we'll see how many I can go past 300."

On the day: "We started well but Stuart Broad came in and played his shots and things went his way. Things drifted a bit and we're in a difficult position now but the guys will fight it out."

  15. 'West Indies being out-skilled'published at 18:11 British Summer Time 25 July 2020

    Carlos Brathwaite
West Indies all-rounder on BBC Test Match Special

In this Test I would say that West Indies have been out-skilled. As a batting unit everyone is getting caught on the crease.

  16. 'England are relentless'published at 18:09 British Summer Time 25 July 2020

    Michael Vaughan
Ex-England captain on BBC Test Match Special

You have to give some credit to the West Indies bowlers for that first hour - they were tremendous. They've had two moments in the Test match where they needed to win periods in the game: after tea last night and once they'd taken four wickets this morning.

With Jimmy Anderson and Stuart Broad bowling you aren't going to get too many. It just feels like a matter of time before West Indies lose a wicket and something happen. Credit to England they keep coming and hitting the right zone. They are relentless. It's almost impossible to get a huge score against this England bowling attack in these conditions.

But it wasn't a woeful morning for England thanks to a swashbuckling Stuart Broad.

He counter-attacked in fine style - bashing England's joint third-fastest 50 in Tests, taking just 33 balls.

    Jonathan Agnew
BBC cricket correspondent on Test Match Special

It was a fascinating day with 12 wickets falling. England will be disappointed by the morning and losing those wickets. If they'd got another 100 runs the follow-on situation would be even clearer.

  19. Postpublished at 18:06 British Summer Time 25 July 2020

Let's have a look back at the key action from day two.

West Indies' quicks Shannon Gabriel and Kemar Roach came out on fire this morning, reducing England from 258-4 to 280-8.

Ollie Pope will be especially gutted not to have added to his overnight 91.

  20. Postpublished at 18:04 British Summer Time 25 July 2020

It is really very frustrating. But we did think today would be a total washout at one point and there wasn't a single rain interruption all day.

England will just have to make sure they make good progress tomorrow before the threat of rain on Monday.

West Indies need to dig very deep.
