Great catch! England have got Jason Holder caught at mid-wicket by Ollie Pope.

    But, has Chris Woakes overstepped?

  2. WI 165-6published at 54.2 overs

Absolute carnage out in the middle.

Jason Holder and Shane Dowrich look to pick up a quick third and with the Windies keeper half down the track Jos Buttler throws at the non-striker's end but misses and Jofra Archer, backing-up, tidies up.

That hit him on the end of the finger though and he's wringing his hand in pain.

James Anderson and Stuart Broad are of course new-ball specialists but I would've thought England would have gone with one of them and then either Jofra Archer or Chris Woakes at the other end this morning.

No glove and hence no excitement from the fielders.

Need nine to avoid the follow-on

England have reverted to plan B.

Jofra Archer has gone around the wicket and is banging it into the ribcage of Shane Dowrich. He gets in a bit of tangle first up with one coming off his thigh pad and looping up to Joe Root at leg gully.

But, he plays the next one much better though and picks up a couple more to bring up the 50 partnership.

It surely has to do with spectators traveling from around the country, Dan?

I went to a Sunday at Lord's two summers ago and I couldn't get a train there in time for the start of play from Stockport. 10am would mean you'd miss most of the morning session!

Start England home Test matches at 10am not 11 to reduce the chances of bad light being a factor and to keep Michael Vaughan's rag from being quite rightly lost. And if it gives Branderson an extra hour's cloud cover to work with, who's complaining...?

    A maiden from Chris Woakes.

That might be his lot for this first spell this morning. He isn't getting any movement.

Shane Dowrich has had his struggles in Manchester but he's finding a way right now.

    Good from Jofra Archer.

A well-directed bouncer has Shane Dowrich jumping around in the crease but he does well enough to get under it.

The ball is doing very little this morning.

    Interesting, Mark.

When I was thinking about this last night I actually thought that the umpires are too lenient with leg-side wides in Test cricket.

Mark Davies: The leg side wide strictness is ridiculous in limited-overs cricket. From a completely unbiased bowler's perspective....

Yep, let's just move on quickly.

  14. Umpire reviewpublished at 51.1 overs

We're going upstairs for a run out as Jos Buttler demolishes the stumps as Jason Holder comes back for a second.

    This isn't even close...

  15. WI 156-6published at 51 overs

    Dismissive from Shane Dowrich.

It's banged in from Chris Woakes but the ball just doesn't get up and the Windies wicketkeeper wallops a pull shot through mid-wicket.

Any hopes that England had of enforcing the follow-on are vanishing.

Need 18 to avoid the follow-on

    Good again from Jason Holder.

He gets on the back foot this time and caresses Jofra Archer between backward point and cover and away for an all-run four.

Need 22 to avoid the follow-on

    Shot!

Pitched up by Jofra Archer and Jason Holder drives beautifully past a diving Chris Woakes at mid-off and away for four.

The follow-on target is being whittled away.

That would change the game drastically.
