Two more overs to squeeze in?

I don't see England's top order getting knocked over like they did in the first innings. It will be hard work but we know they're more than capable. They have the memories of Headingley last summer to hold on to and this is not as outlandish as that.
Yasir Shah gets into all sorts of strife against a Dom Bess delivery that finds some extra bounce, but he has managed not to loop it up to a fielder.
Maiden.
It's got a little darker at Old Trafford, so Dom Bess is coming on to bowl.

Jam: Time for Broad to finish this innings off now.

Every run feels so crucial. You fancy that 250 will be a difficult score to chase down. But England have done so well to claw this back.
Lead by 244
Amazing. Yasir Shah has tried to leave a short ball and ended up middling it for four.
He didn't know much about it - actually, it's more top edge than anything else - but he's managed to hoick it fine enough for four.
Welcome back, Ben.
Lead by 237
Oh, a beauty from Ben Stokes, and Shaheen Afridi should probably be applauded for not nicking that behind.

I think Yasir is going to play some shots here.
Ben Stokes loses his line and Yasir Shah tickles him fine for four.
Cracking Test, this.

Joe Root was convinced, Broad was convinced. We're into the bowlers and it's not inconceivable that Pakistan could be bowled out today. What a day that would make it. We've already had 13 wickets fallen today.
Shadab lbw b Broad 15 (Pak 122-7)
Stuart Broad knows.
Absolutely plumb. That's smashing into leg stump about halfway up, and another wicket falls for Pakistan, with the lead 229.
Now, unless he's nicked this...

Root went straight up. It looked good.
Stuart Broad chunters as Shadab Khan pulls and hustles a couple of runs, before there's a huge appeal for lbw...
Oh, Broad likes this, but when doesn't he? It's going upstairs.

The Pakistan bottom four in the first innings managed 14 runs between them. And the last five wickets fell for 45.

Ben Stokes, having missed out with the bat, feels this is a pivotal moment in the match and wants to get involved.
