Andy: Remember when the ICC decided to remove offering the light to batsmen, what say we go back to that? Or say 2/3 majority of umps fielding and batting sides.

Daniel Seal: The lights are on and the batsman seem to be in no trouble whatsoever! Why come off?! Sort it out ICC! This is farcical!

I’m annoyed by this but I’m nowhere near as angry TMS scorer Andy Zaltzman. He really is not impressed.

    Surely this isn’t too dark?

We haven't quite got beautiful blue skies in Stockport but it's a sunny day again.

If anyone complains about the weather again at Old Trafford we're going to have to think of some consequences.

The players are taking an early tea at the Ageas Bowl by the way so we're not actually losing any time at the moment.

The first bit of common sense today...

England took three wickets in that session, while Pakistan added 60 runs.

I imagine the tourists are the happier of the two sides with how today has gone.

It's been like this all day. If you're not going to play in this when you've been running about in it all day, I can't see them coming back on.

We have to represent the 15,000 people who aren't here. As someone who loves Test cricket, you should just play as much as you can.

Tuffers' suggestion is slightly less dramatic than Michael Vaughan's suggestion of blowing it up earlier in the summer...

I'm going to take the batteries out of those light meters at tea. There are boos coming from the back of the box here.

    And we're going off.

Stuart Broad stands there, arms folded, almost in disbelief. James Anderson looks miffed too.

Uh-oh Richard Kettleborough, who is slowly becoming this summer's Aleem Dar, has called for the light meter...

They're starting to get a decent score together here. Mohammad Abbas is going to be a tricky customer on here with his seam movement.

  14. Pak 213-8published at 84 overs

Stuart Broad is going to start ticking here.

He draws the edge of Mohammad Abbas but it falls just short of Joe Root at first slip.

That's a much better line and length from England and Broad.

  17. England reviewpublished at 16:08 British Summer Time 14 August 2020

There's a huge review from England and Stuart Broad for lbw against Mohammad Abbas.

Broad is off celebrating but Richard Kettleborough shakes his head.

10/350: The overs immediately before & since the new ball have been some of the least considered & planned I’ve seen for a very long time. This is what’s wrong with Root as capt. Awful from England.

  19. 50 runs

50 for Mohammad Rizwanpublished at 16:06 British Summer Time 14 August 2020

    Nope, he's home.

That was more sloppy fielding from England allowing Mohammad Rizwan to run two and bring up his fifty.

It has been a crucial knock for Pakistan.

  20. Umpire reviewpublished at 16:05 British Summer Time 14 August 2020

Is Mohammad Abbas run out there?

    England don't seem convinced.
