It's a good move for Rizwan to stand up when Crawley is facing Abbas. Sometimes Crawley has been so far down the pitch he's been closer to the bowler than his own stumps...

The slips are quite deep for Mohammad Abbas, but it's a slow surface.

  3. Eng 144-4published at 44 overs

Mohammad Abbas finds the edge of Crawley's bat but the ball drops short of slip. How many times have we seen that this series? The Pakistan cordon are deep.

Full from Abbas and Buttler drills down to the mid-off boundary for four.

Joe Root, in his whites with a navy England jumper, is sat on the balcony with his feet up and looking on slightly dejected. It was a quality ball from Naseem Shah that dismissed the England captain...

Tony: Mark's comment regarding Root is very fair. He is no longer a world-class batsman at Test level. There are a number of England players whose form at Test level suffered due to the strategy in the World Cup. Most of those players are no longer in the Test team.

My first thought after reading that from Stephan was, what type of cheesecake?

A paddle shot from Buttler adds two more to the England total.

The wind is starting to make me want some assurances about the structure of the hotel. Once, when I was covering England women in India, the wind got so high that it blew the windows out of their frames. I was eating cheesecake at the time.

There will be concern for Ollie Pope - it's the second time he's been done by a full ball from Yasir Shah that skips on.

What a boost to Pakistan when their captain has a spinner he trusts to get wickets.

    Eng 137-4

Pakistan legends Waqar Younis (the fast bowling coach) and Mushtaq Ahmed (spin coach) are all jokes on the dressing room balcony. Those two will have seen it all in international cricket.

A rare lapse in accuracy from Mohammad Abbas as Crawly superbly whips off his legs and through to mid-wicket for four.

    Time for drinks.

Julie: Why are the England cricketers wearing black arm bands?

They're for Dan Lawrence's mother, who passed away earlier this month.

What do we reckon? A valid point from Mark or is he being slightly unfair to the England captain? Let us know, #bbccricket on Twitter or text 81111.

Yasir, two wickets to his name, offers plenty of flight and the settled Zak Crawley is on the front foot and punches to mid-off for a single.

Pakistan bring a short leg in for Jos Buttler, who picks up the Yasir googly and whips it through the leg side for four. A nice way to get off the mark.

Mark Burt: Root got a terrific delivery but the fact remains his last significant Test score was on a dead pitch in New Zealand. Not sure if it’s the pressure of captaincy or his game’s plateaued and he’s on the slide. Whatever it is, the term world-class no longer applies.

Buttler is made to wait for his first delivery as the that wicket was off the final deliver of Yasir's last over.

It's Abbas to Crawley (which has been quite an interesting match-up so far). A single from Crawley bring Buttler on strike who shoulders his arms and allows the ball to go by.

England will be hoping these two can steady the ship and make it through to the tea break. Still a long, long way to go, mind you.

Pope will be cross about that. He didn't play it well at all.

That has gone straight through Ollie Pope. He looks most dejected as he walks off - he has got himself into a terrible position.

    Pope b Yasir 3 (Eng 127-4)

Bowled him! Yasir has done Pope almost in identical fashion to the way he got him in the second Test. This is not one the England batsman will want to see again.

Pope is forced onto the back foot and is bowled through the gate, the off stump rocked back. Pakistan plugging away.

Ah, that is a shot by Zak Crawley. His head as still as you like, he effortlessly punches back past Naseem. Every single thing about the shot deserves a boundary but a slow outfield restricts England to just three.

Right, so we're going to end the Wind XI (I would guess that 'Hurri-Kane Williamson' has been suggested 34879768 times). But we'll leave you with one last one. It's a good'en...
