Ben Stone: Really well played Jos Buttler. Great to see him get a 100. Feel he is starting to show he’s good enough to be in the team as a batsman. Irrespective of his keeping, he’s an asset in that role.

That is a class innings, particularly from the position he came out in. Two weeks ago he played a one-day style innings to get England over the line. The talk was can he play that same kind of momentum changing innings in the first innings? This has been an innings of the highest quality.

You could see the joy and relief in equal measure as Jos Buttler shook Zak Crawley's hand, took off his helmet and then raised his bat.

A century and still going as he times Shaheen Shah Afridi down to the long-off boundary for four more.

This is Buttler's wagon wheel - he's scored runs all around the wicket, befitting of a man who is one of the best white-ball players in the world.

For a man who has been under so much pressure this summer, he has been superb.

A HUGE sigh of relief for Jos Buttler. And for England. It was bat on pad. Not out.

Oh no!! Has Buttler edged this on 99? It's given out. Buttler reviews. There was a noise.

Buttler punches Abbas though cover for four. Classy shot and he's now on 99. His England colleagues line up and wait patiently on the dressing room balcony, ready to applaud their man.

That is a pure, gorgeous shot. It wasn't that short and Crawley just leant on it.

Shaheen Afridi continues, Crawley pushes out to point for a well-taken single to bring Buttler on strike.

England's wicket-keeper drives beautifully down the ground but a good diving stop from Azhar Ali stops a certain four. Buttler is now just five away from what would be his second Test century.

Crawley is then on his toes to chop Shaheen through cover for four more. Lovely shot.

This partnership is now worth 222.

In that brief spell we had before the second rain break, the ball did more then than it did all day yesterday. Pakistan have got a chance here.

Terrific bowling from Mohammad Abbas, the perfect length with that wobbly seam and it nearly outdoes Jos Buttler, the ball deflecting off the thigh and into the gloves of Rizwan.

Another maiden for Abbas.

That swung back into Crawley but it went so early. As a batsman, you like that - you can wait, wait, wait and then hit it.

Please, can we just have 45 minutes of play without any delays.

Shot! Too full and on leg stump by Shaheen Afridi as Zak Crawley scores his first runs of the day with a controlled drive down to the mid-wicket boundary for four.

A nice comeback from the Pakistan seamer, squaring up Crawley with one that jags back and hits the batsman high on the back leg.
