Buttler has got more consistent as the summer has gone on. He's backed his defence, played in a more orthodox manner, and he's been succesful. It was a calm, measured innings yesterday - a really mature effort. That's the consistency England have been looking for.
There's a spitfire aircraft flying over the ground with a 'Thank you NHS' message painted on the underside of the wings.
An amazing sight which is applauded by both teams.

Jos Buttler is once again putting a stamp down on his position in this Test team. He's making it difficult to leave him out as a batsman.
Jerusalem is being belted out. That can only mean one thing, we're a few minutes from play.
As I look out of my window here in Manchester, all I can say is that we should be glad this Test is happening in Southampton. Hammering it down here.

Pakistan have the ability to bounce back. This is an opportunity for them to level the series. We've seen England collapse before.
BBC Weather's Simon King: "It's a sunshine and showers day. Ther are a few showers not too far away. It would be quite lucky if we don't have some interruptions today. The showers are mostly fairly light, with the odd heavier one.
"From the afternoon onwards there should be pretty dry, bright and sunny weather to take us through to the end of the day."

I wonder how Zak Crawley slept. You get two types of people - some have a very solid sleep, others spend time reliving their shots.

Talking of music, Pakistan opener Shan Masood told BBC Test Match Special’s Aatif Nawaz that he plays songs in his head to help him concentrate when he's batting.
It’s got me thinking. Can you name a cricketer with a song title/artist/lyric in their name? I’ll kick things off with…
Weird that I've chosen three Aussies, eh? Anyway, over to you - #bbccricket on Twitter or text 81111.

There was a slightly iffy moment this morning when rain swept through Southampton, leaving the golfers on the course huddled under umbrellas. It's cleared now, giving way to bright sunshine. The wind has died down, too. The DJ has made a strong start, too. Blossoms followed by Oasis.

There's plenty of county cricket happening up and down the country as the latest round of fixtures in the Bob Willis Trophy begin.

Pakistan bowling coach Waqar Younis speaking to Sky Sports: "Test match cricket can change in a session so hopefully we have a good one this morning. It was down to inexperience and that the pitches we played on in the last couple of games did a bit.
"We did bowl poorly at times but nothing to be taken away from England's batsmen. The exploited that inexperience of the young bowlers."

What was more impressive - Crawley's innings or the fact we had ZERO weather interruptions yesterday?
Looks like we're in store for another decent day. Although that pesky wind could make it uncomfortable for the Pakistan seamers again.
Morning!
Well then, it was arguably England’s best day of the summer yesterday.
A masterful innings by Zak Crawley left Pakistan looking deflated at the end of play. Can the 22-year-old reach his double century?
Buckle in and we’ll find out.
Wonder if he's eaten the same thing for breakfast this morning?
