WHAT?! This wasn't meant to happen. I'm hopeful this is just a passing shower.

Worryingly, the groundstaff are hovering near the covers. There is a black cloud looming...

Yesterday was two years to the day that Jos Buttler scored his first - and only - Test century. He's played some fine knocks since then.

It's not easy restarting on the next day. You have to get back into rhythm.
James, when I said that out loud, I wasn't convinced. When I sang it out loud, it was brilliant.
Shaheen Afridi really isn't at the races today. Wide deliveries, Buttler not interested. Shaheen goes full and straight and this time Buttler pats it back past the bowler for an easy single.
There's some noise and chatter from the Pakistan fielders but nothing compared to how they were at the start of this series.

'Sibley The Bess' ... bravo, Jonny, bravo.
Mohammad Abbas bowls a beauty. Zak Crawley, as he did so many times to Abbas yesterday, walks down the wicket and this time plays inside the line, a bit of movement away from the batsman as it beats the outside of the bat.

This start from Shaheen is at complete odds with the way he started yesterday.

Shaheen has not got his line right. He hasn't bowled straight enough at all. It's not the start Pakistan would have wanted from him.
The first runs of the morning! A tad short from Shaheen Afridi and Jos Buttler cuts through point for two.
Shaheen is struggling with his line this morning, bowling far too wide outside the off stump.
All the plaudits, rightly so, went to Zak Crawley yesterday but Buttler has played such a composed innings. Although he did smash Yasir Shah for two sixes in an over...
Zak Crawley's judgement of length was amazing yesterday - anything too full or too short and it was punished by the tall right-hander, particularly against the seamers.
I hope you shouted 'seekh and destroy' as you gulped each one down, Stephan.
Mohammad Abbas, who went wicket-less yesterday, bowls a tidy over with a tight line as Zak Crawley defends and prods the first five deliveries, before an outside edge squirts through and bounces just short of Fawad Alam at gully.

Azhar Mahmood got a curry in last night. It was unbelievable. I disgraced myself by eating four seekh kebabs. I've been trying to eat less meat. Fell off the wagon last night in spectacular fashion.

There's no movement. The ball is going straight as a gun barrel but it's aimed at first slip, rather than Jos Buttler.
Crawley 171, Buttler 87
My analysis on how windy it is will be based purely on the how much the fielders' trousers are fluttering. They're pretty still.
A maiden to begin with as Shaheen Afridi bowls wide of off stump and Buttler refuses to be drawn in. A quiet start. The ball is only 11 overs old so it may still do a thing or two but nothing yet.

It's not as windy as it was yesterday.

This is still a very good surface to bat on.
And we're off. Buttler shoulders his arms and allows a wide one to go by.
